It's a good step, but they need to lose the OTSRs completely. Then simply preven the fat people from riding so the people without a McDonalds membership card can enjoy the ride the way its supposed to do.

Or move it to Europe.

Those twists really might be too intense for no OTSR...haven't ridden, but I know I've hit my riding partner with hands up on El Toro's final twists, and while you have more anticipation time with these, they also rotate much much faster. There are very few rides in Europe as or more intense than the most intense ones in America, so I don't want to hear that sass. lol.

I look forward to experiencing how the new straps change the ride. Of course though, every hardcore fan of this ride really just wants it the way it originally was with not breaks on first drop. It made the 2nd hill have way more airtime moreso than just having a super intense blackout turn. The only complaint a few people had about the original Intimidator 305 was that you get karate chopped by the restraints. Most people had a who cares attitude since its intense and nothing wrong with a slight amount of pain, but now if thats completely gone I'd like to see how it is. Having the original 94mph Intimidator 305 back with padded straps would be a dream.

Hmmm... From what I can see it looks like they have added some extra padding to the straps... But I see 4 fans in the video already being a fan of these restraints. So I hope the park continues with this since it really helps a lot. (Knowledge from my Intamin Spinner experience) [:)]

You need the over the shoulder restraints to help support your upper body. You could sustain a back injury if you weren't positioned right in the train. Having your arms up will actually increase the amount of torque put on your back.

I don't like OTSRs either, but they are a necessary evil for some rides.

Very nice!! Now the trims need to go. I want to ride it without them instead of with.

Just got in from an evening at Kings Dominion. I found the new restraints to be very comfortable, and unlike the prior restraints which were a downside to the ride, these are "just there". I didn't hit them through most of the transitions, and when I did bump it once, it didn't hurt at all. Now if they'd just get rid of the stupid trim brakes....

i just got back from kings dominion 2 days ago when they had the restraints instead of the straps. i never rode the i305 in its prime, but im hoping that they take off the trims and i get to go back next year to try it out. from what i remember, i would have to hold the restraint section around my head to reduce head bumping in that last transition.

Just got back from Kings Dominion with the new restraints. They are great and feels very comfortable. Trim brakes still there though but at least they are at the top of the drop and not near the bottom.
