anyone know if there's a tool, or a way, to get either the animated camera, or the animated coaster car, exported out of no limits? I know the object creator allows you to save out 3ds files of the track, but I'm wondering about the actual "animated" simulation of the coaster?

I don't think that's possible. The track can be exported because the Construction Kit extracts the track path and then remodels the track stuff around that path.

...but it does seem like it should be at least possible to get the animated coaster (or camera) out, after all, it's just position and rotation data per frame that must exist somewhere in the program, no?

I'm not sure what you mean, but you can record what you see in the simulator by pressing NUM0

thanks, what I mean is the actual data, not a recording of the ride. So for each frame, exported to say 3ds max or maya (for instance) I would have position and rotation data of either the coaster car(s) or the camera view.

Might be possible with the pro version, but I'm pretty sure it's not with the normal one.

The Construction Kit is as far as you'll get with the standard version of NL, and it does a pretty crappy job at it too. (Completely unoptimized coaster models, no texture mapping data for wooden supports, etc.; the 3ds exporter for the CK is a real mess though it's still better than nothing.)

Unless you know your way around the NL engine and/or files or have some kind of professional version that can handle it, getting model/positional data for tracks, supports, trains, camera positions, etc. can't be done.
