My main inspiration to make this was because it was going to SFGAm, but then the faggots in New Jersey had to ruin everything like New Jersey and Texas chronically do ALL THE TIME.

Anyways this ride so far has been an asshole to recreate but I'm working on it. The turn matches a POV fairly well and so does the drop, I'm just working on the vertical loop positioning right now/making that match up with a POV. I know the picture isn't much but it's a start. More updates as I finish up with elements. My goal is to get one element done a day trackwork wise. We'll see how that goes or if I end up flat out giving up on this. The train seems to accelerate slightly faster in the POV than it does in NL so that will probably afect ride dynamics quite a bit.

Meh I don't care for it at GAdv. It gives them an excuse not to build something better in the next year or two.

I've been on both Mantis and Medusa/Dark Knight/Dominator/Raging Bull/Iron Wolf...in other words, I've done everything this coaster does, and none of it is really special like what they potentially could've made at the park.

It feels nothing like Mantis, DK or Iron Wolf....and especially not Raging Bull. Could always just like...give it a chance.

Oh I'll ride and enjoy. But if you personally had to choose between say a Batman Dark Knight or a CCI terrain coaster, wouldn't you prefer the CCI?

Same thing here. This is GAdv, and they've done a great job with their last several major additions, with their least exciting being Superman...still a good quality ride. So you know they have the potential and resources to do something great. Instead, they're going for something decent, that won't add too much new to the park anyways, other than the standing position. I'd rather enjoy what they have, and keep that possibility of something very good that could come, than kill the possibility with a good but not great ride.

Batman yes. Chang maybe not. It ran really well when I rode it and was way more powerful than any of the rides you compared it to, at least of the ones I've been on. It felt totally different than Mantis too, even though they're nearly clones. Chang felt way more intense through the whole ride where Mantis kind of dies out because of the trim brake. I would call it a great ride and it's in my top 10.

Wait... THere is terrain at SFGAdv? That's news to me lol.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

I'm thrilled. And I won't get off topic saying how much I hate riding this kind of ride or how it's nothing new or blah blah blah.

I love Chang. And I can't wait to see this one finished, if it gets finished before I leave.

Apparently the trim got turned off this year, and Chang's layout is more drawn out. Are the elements lower?

Chang also slows a lot in the last few turns, without the twists of Mantis to keep things exciting. For some reason, I didn't care that much for Mantis (probably would've liked it better had I ridden back row instead of 2nd row), but I do see the twists being one of its best features.

Chang feels a lot faster than it looks in any videos. It doesn't feel drawn out while on the ride at all. The second cork stuff is also crazy fast.

Chang is much better than Mantis? They look very similar, but I suppose technology improved in the time the two were built.

Yeah, I rode them within days of each other and they felt totally different. I know a few people who go to CP pretty often and much prefer Chang as well. I know it does look slow in POVs through the end but that's not how it felt to me at all...actually surprised me when I watched videos after riding it.

Yes, Jake... Scorcher is an awesome ride in my opinion. It's like small, yet action-packed unlike it's huge, drawn-out predessors.

At least Iron Wolf is great. Hopefully we get something we don't already have now. Hopefully a GCI [:D]

I'm not a big fan of RR. I agree with you rcking04. I've been on RR, Mantis, Vortex, and Scorcher. I must say I like Scorcher or Mantis, but the problem with Mantis is after the dive loop.. The whole layout is a drag where the Scorcher is just pretty short after the vertical loop.

I'm excited for the recreation though, coasterkid.
