G'day/mornin everyone
Just wondering what is eveybody's verdict on having 2 lift hills on a coaster? both in real life and in simulation games.
Ive seen alot of people rating 'it had 2 lift hills, which lost some adrenaline' surly tho having 2 lift hills can be pretty exciting, although i cant find a coaster two relate as yet is the coaster world, but if your first lift hill stands at 50ft with a 45ft drop and then you have a second lift at 250ft with a 280ft drop, urly it must be quite exciting. The anticipation climing the second lift hill would be quite imense and could actualy increase the levels of adrenalin. But i do agree that in a simulator it is not as exciting, due to it just being a simulator and no real feelings or emotions are portrayed.

Well thats my verdict, whats yours????[8D]

I think that 2 or more lifts isn't bad on a real ride if they are not close to eachother. Some coasters actually have like 4 lifts and also things to get them over the hills. For simulator coasters like in NL i think it's boring if you make 2 lifts because alot of people make more like 2 enormous rides linked to eachother which is very unrealistic in my opinion. So: multiple lifts allowed on real rides, not on sim rides [:)]

i think having 2 big lift hills on a realistic coaster would be just a wee tiny bit off technical, even thought it probably isn't realistic but dont worry the edge i only took off 0.5 on technical for yours.

But I have a 2 lifted coaster in my homepark(The Great Escape), so it IS realistic. Also, if someone were to make a recreation of it, would points be taken off for making it accurate by having 2 lifts?

In SFStL there is a 3 lift coaster (it is a family one and quite boring [:P]) but is still a crowd pleaser and there is a tunnel after the 3rd lift so it is an excellent perspective of a first time coaster rider in all of the anticipation while climbing the lift. In a rollercoaster documentary, the lift hill was denoted as the roller coaster saying, "I got you and there's no turning back." I guess it kind of gets your juices flowing. (Adrenaline) [;)]

Heres a bunch of coasters with 2 lifts:

The Ultimate, Lightwater Valley
The Beast, PKI
Arrow suspended coasters, I think all of them has 2 lifts
Many, many, many minetrain coasters
Scenic Railway, Dreamland

I dont remember any other coasters with 2 lifts.

I personally don't care. More lifts the better, as long as when you are coasting it's good.

i have no problem with several lft hills, (the delonaga mine train has 3) but with me i take of 0.5 points for 2 or more large lift hills, i.e. several hundred feet. although since it appears others do not agree i will remember not to take off anymore so we can all be happy [:)]

Several lifts are okay if its a small coaster but it ruins the adrenaline if its a giga or hyper coaster

Well, the additional are fine by me, anything that will lengthen the thill can do nothing but good. Unless it makes it long and boring.

However, look at all the world-class coasters there are that have more than 1 lift hill... The Beast, The Loch Ness Monster, The Big Bad Wolf, and... well, okay, so maybe Iron Dragon doesn't really qualify...[:)] In any case, The Beast is one of my favorite woodies ever, and it has 2. Conclusion... A coaster is allowed to have 2 lifts as long as the lift sets up a really spectacular finale.

I've been on 3 coasters with 2 or more lifts: Space Mountain at Disneyland, CA, Big thunder mountain railroad at Disneyland, and Ninja at SFMM. I've also been on a log ride with several lifts: Splash Mountain.

I think people tend to think coasters with less lifts are less intense so Disney created the majority of theirs like this. Maybe that's why little ones still love the popular rides. I know I still do! [;)]

i think its ok to have 2 lift hills on 1 rollercoaster on no limits if the lift hill dont take forever to go up. 10mph at least because it dont take age then.

I really like how BBW has two lift hills. Each part of the ride is different, with the first part focusing on the swinging and the last focusing on the drop.

2 lift hills = suxxors. The Beast was The Bordem.
Iron Dragon comes close but the first half really sucks.

I went on Ninja today actually. This of course has the entire run of the run between the 2 lifts so there isnt much to say.
