This ride is a Stengel/RCCA/Paramount/Cedar fair fail.

Cedar Fair did completely nothing to help improve the ride. The ride has always been a pain both at a maintenace stand point and rider comfort. I rode it the day before it closed and it was actually rougher then usual. I blame all 4 to be honest.

As for Stengel this ride was poorly shapped... Look at photos of the huge double helix. It's shapped parabolic like this...

Well removing this ride there will be a big land of the park open. I'm hoping they will add something alot better to the park than this... It's no fun when your getting hurt through out the whole ride! And fear the four I've been looking for the video where they were talking about removing the ride or having to redo this alot to stop it from hurting people but I think its best to remove it. Also its the one next to the Adventure Express, the really big one.

Removing the ride would cost the same amount it took to build a ride lol. It's expenisve to remove rides too. I've heard a lot of talk about putting a B&M invert right there but I wanted another terrain woodie to be honest.

Same, I was hoping they would build a new Woodie still breaking the fastest and tallest wooden coaster records. Just make sure the ride isn't so rough. It might be this b&m invert. they have this little coaster model in this store and i'm guessing thats whats next to be built.

That model has been sitting in that shop for years. They won't be using that.

Although I'm not a big fan of wooden coasters, I really don't see why people are offended at the Texas Giant rehab. The coaster was obviously junk in it's wooden form. I'd rather have a hybrid fun coaster than one less coaster.

Actually, at least to me (and I guess I have strange taste in wooden coasters), it's not so obvious that it's "junk". I rated the Texas Giant at my #2 wood coaster spot for a couple of years. In the early 90's, it almost (not quite) topped my long-standing #1 Mr. Twister. It was smooth and fast, intense and wild. I haven't ridden it in about 15 years but a friend of mine rode it a few years ago. He'd ridden it with me in the early 90's, and he felt it was well-cared for. So we're sad that this is happening, and we have no intention of ever returning to SFOT. I do realize we're not breaking the bank for 6 Flags, but it feels somewhat satisfying to us to boycott the place.
That is just my opinion.

More important, SOB, in my opinion, was always poor. Yes, the loop was smooth. But the ride was never comfortable, even in its premiere year. Worse, it just didn't do too much for such a long track. How can you design a coaster with over 7000 feet of track that does so few elements?

What was frustrating to me is that rumors indicated Paramount was about to build 5 copies of the Rye Aeroplane Coaster and decided instead to sink all of that money into SOB. What a waste, if true.

It is true that they wanted to build Rye Aeroplane Coaster. They had a lot of other plans to go in there also. They choose the wrong one...

I RCCA for sucking so much. I think they should make a terrain woodie or an invert.

For some reason, I think an invert would be really good there.

An invert could be nasty there...especially if they use the hill where the huge "Rose Bowl" is after the drop.

Or maybe they should add an Intamin Giga! The biggest ride there is only 230 ft tall, They need to think bigger!

Nah, Intamin Giga wouldn't fit well. It could be possible but it doesn't have good room for that.

Like SOB but a steeper lift and have it be an Intamin Prefab...you could realistically fit a twister style prefab there if you wanted to I think.

Deff. a stretch...but it'd be smoother than that SOB Son of Beast.

^^ Totally agreed, Kings Island needs more smoother rides, 3/4 of them hurt you in some way!

People don't understand how much land Kings island actually owns. They haven't even used half of there land they own. They have room for just about almost anything.

They own everything to the river.
