I go to kings island all the time so i feel like writing a report about the park, Kings Island is a great theme park if you ask me. But they could improve on some rides, those rides can really hurt you which will take the fun out of it.

Ok, first off the best ride there, Diamondback! If you go you have to ride this, The Stadium-Style seated trains really make the ride fun. This ride has great airtime hills. Sit in the back if you can, when it comes to the splashdown turn your head around and stick it as far back as you can, You can possibly get your face wet if you want to. The lines on diamondback are not long, Most of the time is a 5-15 minute wait depending on the day but the lines move quick. If you get the chance ride it when its pitch black outside its so fun!

Thats the line the first day the ride opened ! And yes i waited in it for 6 Hours and got my self a diamondback first rider shirt!

Ok next up is the one and only beast. This ride can be really rough but its still fun. Very jerky in some spots but its not really shaking that much but no need to worry! This ride is really long! As it holds the record for the longest wooden roller coaster in the world! The ride still has the trims on it, Id say if the beast lost the trims you would most likely die!

Next up is the vortex, This ride is always fun! Although it hits your head around at some parts its still fun! Its got 6 Inversions! Corkscrews are the best part because your coming out of your seat and it looks like your just going to fall straight out of your seat! Features 2 loops, 2 corkscrews, and 1 Bat wing! If you get the chance if you go there ride this also.

Ok, Next up is going to be Face-Off or as it is newly called Invertigo, After cedar fair bought kings island some names had to be changed because they were named after Paramounts Movie names. Invertigo is just basically a inverted boomerang, with the face-to-face cars so you can look at the other person while going through the ride. The ride doesn't have much to it and it usually takes a while to get on because its only got 1 car, If you have no limits find the ride that came with it named Invertigo. It's the same exact thing except it has red supports, not blue.

Ok now its to the flight of fear! Flight of fear is just an LIM that launches from 0-60 in 1.5 seconds. It has some inversions but you are riding in pitch black. (sometimes the lights are on in the building.) So basically you cant see anything thats going on! Sorry, can only get one picture for this ride.
Image

Ok, lets go to the Adventure Express! Just a mine-train ride. This ride jerks you alot so be cautious, the ride is still fun though i like the theme they did with it, Just basically Indiana Jones theme!
Image
Image

Ok, Drop zone and Delerium are just basically flat rides. Although they are really fun, Drop Zone is a 315 Free-Fall tower. This ride is always fun but at the same time its scary as you slowly go up spinning then you drop without knowing when! Delerium: Really i don't know how to describe this ride. Just basically a swinging back and fourth pendulum that spins!
Image
Image
Image

Ok next up is the Backlot Stunt coaster, Formally know as the Italian job Stunt track. Ok, its just basically shooting you off from 1-40 really fast! The ride isn't long but at one point you come up and fire is basically straight in front of your face! (no you can't touch it) The ride is themed as a police chase. The trains are Mini-Coopers. Towards the end you stop for the fire then go into a tunnel and come out right under the queue line. There use to be a small splash down but it got removed.
Image
Image
Image

And now the Firehawk! A vekoma flyer! you lay on your back and it flips you over so it looks like your actually flying! this ride is fun but it only last a minute and 30 seconds, and most the time your waiting 2 hours to get on it! But the ride is still really fun just stick your hands out and act like your flying!
[img]http://www.coasterimage.com/pictures/albums/kings-island-pictures/roller-coaster-pictures/firehawk-pictures/firehawk06.jpg][/img]
Image
Image

And not forgetting the old racer! The racer, always a fun ride! Only 81 feet tall but it takes you at 61 mph! I loved when the old racer was there, they had a backwards train added! but when cedar fair took over it was changed back to what use to be the original, this is always fun you sit on one train and your friend is on the other and you get to race, Warning! Don't sit in the back, this ride can really hurt you in back trust me!
Image
Image
Image

and last but not least top gun! Or as its now called Flight Deck. Suspended swinging coaster. This ride is always fun, its really smooth and the line for this is never long! It's kinda hidden back by the son of beast, I think some people have no clue its there.

Image
Image
Image

Ok well that raps it all up. I think i hit all the rides. If I didn't just tell me. Sorry I know I didn't include the SOB (Son Of Beast) I really didn't feel like it needs to be added if it may be torn down (not for sure yet). If you got the chance to go to Kings Island do it!

No chance that they took the trims of Beast, is there? It used to be great...
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

They still got all the trims there. The train has already passed them is why you cant see them.

Next time you go ride Red Racer front seat leave the lap bar about two clicks up and that's THE best floater you will ever expirence but don't do it on the blue side you will get stappled and it will hurt.

Hahaha you waited 6 hours for Diamondback. I waited 10 minutes after the first train cycled on opening day.

I just had to get the shirt, now the line is only like 5 minutes. I'm going to kings island in 2 days so i'll be sure to do it. It's just i hate my friends who want to ride in the back and you go flying up in the air and hit your head back in fourth and they call it fun?

I personally think back row on X2 is epic because on the final raven curve, you shake like crazy and I always get a boner. Best part of the ride [approve]

6 hours?! WTF?!

I hate my friends who want to ride in the front because it's the front and has no apparent thrill to it, it's just because it's the front. Airtime is the best, why would you NOT want to ride in the back?

Exactly, the back of Diamondback is the best! Except on the racer, that airtime your getting hurt! The front you hang over the edge, the slowest part of the train which bores me. On the racer in the back its pulling you up againts the lap bar out of your seat and its painful, But other rides the back is the best!

It's a skycoaster. Nothing special, always overprices for the thrill you'd get on those things.

Diamondback is not worth a 6 hr wait, and is extremely overrated.

The Beast is trimmed to high hell and sucks. The only fun part is the double helix.

Vortex is the beast ride there

Firehawks line is ridiculous and you should not wait any more than 5 minutes for that POS

Adventure Express is actually a pretty fun minetrain. Those arrow transitions are love terrible though!

Invertigo is nice and forceful during the cobra roll, the rest of the ride is Meh.

Flight Deck's queue line takes too long to get through, so it's not worth riding.

Drop zone and Delirium are the only awesome flat rides there.

The racer is actually very fun in the back, the only problem is they never have it racing.

Flight of Fear's MCBR stops the train completely, therefore the ending is not as good as it could be.

Backlot Stunt Coaster is a waste of space and time

The Crypt needs to be torn down

Woodstock Express (Beastie, Fairly Odd Coaster, etc..) is actually really fun!

Flying ACE Ariel Chase scared the Sh*t out of me because my feet were touching the catwalks on the lift hill.

Planet Snoopy Rocks! Best kids rides ever!

Overall King's Island is Meh. They really need more high quality rides. They have so much room, yet they have All of these Arrow and Vekoma Coasters and crappy woodies. They have only 1 medicore B&M coaster. They really need to stup up their game. They need an Intamin Blitz or a rocket or a B&M invert or something. As well as some higher quality flat rides.

King's Island is actually extremely popular only because of it's location. The atmospher is just okay, the rides are just okay and overall the park is just okay. I guess I see it this way because it's the closest "thrill park" to me and I go there so much. Overall they really need to step their game up in the thrill department.

Yeah, Its part of this one ride i can't remember what its called but your in a big vest with 2 other people and it takes you up and then it drops you and basically its like your flying.

Image

And the dumb thing is it cost money, just a way to get extra money for the park.

Yes i have to agree, but I have a feeling the next coaster coming to Kings Island is going to be something nice with some thrill in it.

^I agree as well. I think DIamondback was only the beginning. With KI having one of the nicest kids area of any amusement park I've ever been to, I am sure Cedar Fair is planning to turn this park into a thrill park. There are so many opportunities for KI. Paramount added alot of rides to the park, but at the same time they weren't very thrilling.

While I think Diamondback is fun, and all I still think Kings Island needs something more major than a B&M hyper coaster. Also, does anyone know of the height limits at KI? I really want to know why their tallest coaster is only 230 feet. Having two towers that go over 300ft and a coaster that's only 230ft makes me wonder.

I think King's Island is okay...but certainly not great. Like some have said before...aside from DB there is nothing from B&M or Intamin that really can be considered a great coaster. If SOB goes they need an Intawoodie twister. And for everyone sake PLEASE get a new coaster from Intamin as well. A Maverick style looper would be just what that park ordered...just DON'T paint it RED! DB and Firehawk are their last 2 coasters and they are both red...Invertigo has red supports...Beast has red trains...Flight Deck used to be red. Now it's gray...and so is Backlot Stunt Coaster and FoF. And Vortex is so faded the purple almost looks gray and the orange is dark enough to almost be red...So they need to just get something different that looks appealing too...something Blue or Green or something different...CP has a few red coasters...but they have blue, yellow, green, and it really gives every ride it's own feel. At King's Island the rides for the most part are not new (or at least relocated) and I know it's just color...but it can get boring riding red coasters all the time and going to a park seeing a bazillion rides that look the same. Sorry for my rant lol.

^Lol! That's cedar Fair for ya! Anyway, the park just needs a major update. It's just okay. It's not a bad park, but it's not a great park either. They really just need to work on their rides alot more. Not just their coasters, but flat rides as well. Seriously they have 3 Major (Free with park admission) flat rides and only 2 of them are truley fun. The crypt does absolutely nothing but take up space. They just need a major update. BTW, When they got X-flight I was hoping they would keep the black and green color scheme, but that didn't happen..lol! I was also hoping that Dominator went to KI and not KD, but noooo!!! KI got stuck with another Vekoma..lol. They just really need to work on their ride line-up. Nothing there is even remotely thrilling anymore. I just go there because I like coasters and I enjoy them, but it gets boring fast.

I've been considering a break from the repetitive Cedar Point routine to go here, but perhaps I should wait for something new especially since SOB just closed.

I haven't been to any parks outside of CP actually (except Disney World and Universal Studios back when I was 5 years old) which is kind of sad. I'll probably just wait for KI to open a new ride and take a trip there afterwards, or I might end up getting a Platinum Pass and going next year regardless of whether there's a new ride or not. How are the lines at KI? As far as I'm concerned, CP's longest line is 2 hours for Maverick; everything else is either 45 mins or less. I guess crowds can be unpredictable but last time I was there, TTD was 15 mins both times I rode it.

Kings island is as brok said, just OK. If you want a good Cedar Fair park just go to Dorney or WOF because honestly from looks of it Kings is average.

We did Kings Island in July 2013. There was 13 of us, 7 adults and 6 children ranging in age. We had a very positive time and can only leave positive feedback. There was only 1 negative fallback. The park its self doesn??????t open till 10am. Except this everything was perfect there.
