you can sometimes bend the rules with woodies because in reality not a lot of the things on a wood are perfectly straight, and some even have brakes on curves etc. but as a rule of thumb if you want something straight, like a lift or brake before the station, then you highlight the segment and press [ctrl + i] or [cmd + i] on the iMac.

If you want two segments straight highlight both.
