Hey, I don't really know if this could happen legally...

But I recently had to wipe my computer's hard drive because of a virus. My NL download link (the one from the confirmation email) is expired. I have the key, I was wondering if it would be possible to get the program without buying it again? Thanks!

Looks like you'll have to wait a while then or figure out something else. In today's world with modern flash drives, external hard drives, etc. that can hold lots of data, there's no excuse not to backup your files. And get an antivirus program. AVG or Avast will do, no need to buy commercial software unless you run a business that gets attacked for information or if you go to certain kinds of websites regularly.

Of course, it's too late now to do much about it, and at least you didn't lose your product key. Next time you know though.

I've burned it on a cd-r . So i can install it on all my computers without downloading it 4 times. ;)

Edit.: and it's a nice back-up because it's not so large like a external hard disc and not so small like a USB-stick

It's better to use a USB drive because you can easily backup all your tracks, files, etc. along with the NL installer itself. I keep the installer seperately and just copy the whole program files folder at once when backing up. (Unless the backup isn't for many files; no sense in copying everything when I only changed a track file so I should really use backup management software.)

Though keeping an extra CD with the install files isn't a bad idea either, should something happen to the flash drive. But in that case, you're pretty screwed anyway since all your tracks will be lost. (Along with tracks you may have downloaded in the past *AHEM Thunderhead Falls, Colder Fusion, and Real's TTD.)

I use a flash drive for initial backups. Major backups of NL will also go onto my external HDD and perhaps my laptop and old computer. You don't really need that many backup sources, but if it's possible then take advantage of it by all means. Generally, a flash drive and external HDD should be enough. (You'll likely need an external HDD for other purposes, like backing up massloads of pirat-err... I mean games/music and all that good stuff.)
