I think both of them suck equally. They both use a hydraulic cable launch system, I will take a LIM blowing up beside the train over a cable to the face any day. Last I checked when the cable fails it totals the train, when a LIM explodes you simply tell guest the special FX are only intermittently working and run it till it valleys.
LIM rides have a less chance of rolling back, but it does happen on rare occasions when the computer pitches a fit about something safety related, or a operator denounces his desire for a raise and better working conditions by pressing the E-Stop mid launch. None the less, roll back on LIM ride, hilarious, roll back on Intiman cable launcher, lame.
Not to mention you don't have to perform rag test on a mile or so of cable every morning.
