So, I've build a few coasters over the past year or so since my last upload and have decided that this one is at least of an acceptable level. I have wanted to build a wooden coaster with fully custom realstic support structure for quite a while and I ended up using this coaster as a way of sort of experimenting with realistic wooden supports. As a result of this, the supports on this are a mish mash of different looks and styles and therefore is definitely not realistic [lol] I've only added custom wide supports to auto generated main structure so it was definitely never going to be particularly realistic.

But neverless, I think the ride itself is pretty cool, at least in places so I'm pretty pleased with it for that. Although the supports and building style of the coaster aren't really pertaining to any style or even that realistic, I've learned a lot about wooden supports and construction while I've been doing this. So this has set me up to start work on that smaller wooden coaster with full custom realistic support structure that I've wanted to build for a while.

I've got a few bits to finish off, but a lot of it is a bit rushed and it shows [lol] but regardless, I'll probably upload in the next couple of days.

Not sure about a name for the thing as I never really intended to upload anyway, so I'll probably just call it Aurora, seems like such a common name and all. [^]

Are they custom supports?
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

well, like I say, all the wide supports are hand done but the main support structure is just the rubbish that the wood magic auto support generator thing makes.

EDIT: Cool5 says "I love it!!"... have I failed at life?

I'm liking it, but I do think that you need to come up with a more original name before you upload it. Good work! [^]

Oh my, this looks really good! But my only gripe is that theres too much of the same brown. Perhaps make a difference in hue in the coaster's wood and the station/walkway wood? But it still looks awesome.

Yeah, Make the walkways a darker brown, it would look nicer that way imo.

yah, I had originally intended all of this. I was going to make the coaster Southern Yellow Pine, and then the station was always meant to be a more traditional wooden colour. The path and queue areas were all supposed to be another separate colour, but then like I say it turned into more of just an experiment with support styles and things. So in the end, everything other than the roof of the station area is just all southern yellow pine [lol]

I basically want to get on with this next project straight away now because I'm pretty excited about the layout, but I can't bring myself to begin on it with this great lumbering thing hanging over my head. As a result, the finsihing touches are a little rushed, but still add to some parts of the ride nicely. I was going to build a maintenance shed and all that junk, but that's kind of... not going to happen anymore [lol]

Mmmm... Looks sexy.
If you get it up before Monday, I'll probably throw you a rate.
No rush though. Would rather see it after I get out of basic and find a really nice piece of work than see it rushed right now.

Looking really good so far though.
