This is a crazy idea. Lets say my father gets in the car, floors the gas, starts the car and back out at 10,000MPH instantaneously. He would go through the brick pile, rip through the woods, blip across the field, bounce off the ground, get out of Loundoun County in 5 seconds? and fly through the air over America at still over 1,000 MPH? What would happen to the car that he would be driving at 10,000MPH?

it would go "BOOOOOSHHHHH!! KA-BAM! KA-BAM!" Then your father would go "AHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhh! I HAD SO MUCH To live for...."

Wouldn't his body be incinerated by the 10,000 wind friction?

i'm sure your dad would just fly through the windshield like on a carcrash because the sudden 10.000MPH acceleration backwards. Only to stand up and look backwards at the hole in the wall...

Unless he was buckled, in which case his seat-belt would cut him into 3 pieces.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

What would happen to the car as it shot out of the garage at 10,000MPH?

at that speed the car probably wouldnt even leave the garage, you dad would explode into a burst of blood and the car would buckle and collapse on the spot. It would either compact into the boot or bonnet depending on what way he wanted to drive out.

Simply due to wind resistance and friction and gravitational forces, it would be like the car hit into a concrete wall.

How much gas would that require to go at that speed instantaneously?

no petrol would be able to cause that. you would need incredibly high pressure bombs with your dads car resting against it upon detonation. then maybe the odd part of the car, like a bolt or hunk of metal may fly off at 500mph. to get to 10,000 mph you could strap your dads car to something in space.

If no explosions happen, and he was in a vacuum, he could travel around the world in around 24 seconds.

Math FAIL! The circumference of the earth is around 24,901.55 miles. Divide that by 10,000 and you see that it would take approximately 2.49 hours to complete the trip. You are off by a factor of 373.5. That is equivalent to estimating the height of Millennium Force to be less than 1 foot.

Even then you would be off by a factor of 37.35

No, I just realized I was sitting next to a calculator for some reason and was really bored.

This conversation is pointless. However, I'm bored.

Most likely, the back of your dad's car is at most 5 feet from the garage door. Accelerating from 0-10000 MPH in 5 feet would result in a force of about 668,000 Gs. 100 Gs will usually kill a human. This much force would destroy the car as well. A 2000 kg car would have the equivalent weight of over a million tons.

Let's assume your dad has a really long garage, and need only accelerate at 1 G. 10,000 MPH is about mach 13. A car would almost certainly shred well before mach 1.

Now assume that the car is accelerating in a vacuum, powered by induced magnetism of some sort, and so could actually reach the garage door in one piece. The garage door would be destroyed, but most likely the car would be totalled as well. If it hit a brick wall, both would disintegrate.

The car would not go into orbit, since escape velocity is 25,000 MPH.

Also, to avoid being banned for encouragement: do not attempt to back your dads car out of the garage at 10,000 MPH.

escape velocity / sqrt(2) = orbit velocity, since escape velocity is the speed needed to escape the Earth's gravity.

25000 / 1.41 = 17730 (about)

That is the target velocity.

The International Space Station travels at 17,500 MPH.

Just sayin.

The car is a Surberben which is a big car. Would that survive going to 10,00MPH instantaneously?

No it would not. As I said, no car would survive pulling over 600,000 Gs, or going supersonic.
