I have the choice of going to Six Flags Great Adventure or Kings Dominion next week. I am really stuck on which to choose. Can I get some feedback about both parks and suggestions on which park to choose?

given the HUGE difference in average ride quality, I'd say Great Adventure for sure, but if you do end up going to KD it'd be for I305. In my opinion, I305 is the best coaster ever, even with the trims. Obviously, without the trims itd be even better, but it's still incredibly amazing. So there you go. I say the average quality of rides is better at GAdv, but the highest quality in a single ride is at KD. The choice is yours.

Having been to both...I'd say that perhaps KD has the slight advantage for best ride with I305...and Volcano is very good as well. However GAdv does have Bizzaro Nitro KK and El Toro...the woodies at KD are decent...Grizzly is fairly slow. Hurler is pretty smooth and gives fair airtime. Rebel Yell is ok too. GAdv has El Toro which gives good air and of course is smooth. Rolling Thunder is well...Rolling Thunder. IDK that I would call I305 the best coaster I've been on...but I would call it maybe 5th or 6th. I personally like Apollo's Chariot a bit better than I305 because it has more airtime occurances. Apollo is fairly comprable to Nitro, and they both rank very high, so either way your going to get a few wood coasters, a good hyper/giga, a launch coaster (although completely different rides: I would put Volcano wayyyy above KK), and a few other misc. coasters. Dominator is EXTREMELY intense. I would put it above Bizzaro IMO. Either way you get a few great coasters and alot of good/decent ones. It really depends on your favortie type of ride. If it were me I'd say GAdv, but I was also at KD just 2 weeks ago so I'm a bit biased. Either way your gonna have a hell of a time.

I want to go to Great Adventure but I feel like I can't pass up I305. But that would be the only reason I would go to KD so I leaning towards Six Flags.

Six Flags is not as good as Kings Dominion.
But first off, when are you going?

In my opinion, you can ride Kings Dominion coasters all day, and never get tired. When I am at Six Flags, I am asking to leave early. Kings Dominion also has a better up keep. The park has a better aroma. The only reason to go to Great Adventure would be to ride Kingda Ka, El Toro, and Nitro. Kings Dominion has Dominator, Flight of Fear, Volcano, Back Lot Stunt Coaster, (I love that ride) and of course, Intimidator305.

Think about it.

I think KD is underrated in the sense that most people don't realize how good Volcano and Dominator are. Because of the Six Flags brand it kind of gives a sense of superiority. Really they are two very even parks and either way you shouldn't regret your choice because there are alot of first class rides at both.

I am going next Wednesday. I want a park with a floorless coaster because I have never ridden one and both parks have them (Bizzaro and Dominator). But Six Flags has a B&M flyer and I have never ridden one of those. And KD has 3 coasters that I would be interested in riding (I305, Dominator, Volcano) where Six Flags has many more

Yea if I had never been to either I would chose SFGAdv just because again of the brand of the park and the overall group of coasters is better even though KD maybe has the best 2 rides in Volcano and I305.

Go to KD. Its been my home park for most of my life. It is a great great park. One of my favorites. Everything is sooo much higher quality than Great adventure. The kd midway is georgeous with the eiffel tower, and volcano is incredible. It has my favorite launch of all time. And it is just great. The park just has a friendly feel to it, and has great rides, and has the best waterpark of any park i have ever been to. And now it has intimidator 305 which looks amazing. Oh and shockwave is way underated, Only standup that had ejector on its hills that i have ever ridden. Oh and flight of fear is awsome too. It has great theming. And drop zone it the BEST DROP TOWER OF ALLL TIME. it is the only thing around that can get my stomach to drop. And fall so long that im scared it will hit the ground.

Trust me go to KD you will never forget it!

I don't really care about anything in parks except the roller coasters and Six Flags has more coasters that appeal to me than KD

In terms of coasters yea I think GAdv has a slight edge...I personally like KD better but I would pick GAdv in your situation if that makes sense? LOL

It has the slow lift, catwalks all over the ride of a jet coaster and it is a Japanese made.
