Since I don't have Facebook, I didn't come across this til my mom was on last night and checked CP's page. They are revealing 6 pictures one day at a time until they announce the 2011 plans on the 24th. The first two are a picture of an old farm styled windmill, and the second is a picture of a metal dinosaur statue. They link to a lesson plan website and a kids dinosaur website respectively. Since I don't have FB I havn't been noticing this but now I'm watching it like a hawk...anyone here have FB and following this? What are your thoughts?

That would be insane. Do you have reports or is that speculation?

CP filed for a trademark on the term "Stratosoar" Which according to the two pictures could suggest a combination of the terms "stratosphere" (where there is wind) and "dinosaur" (obviously relating to the skeleton).

Screamscape is saying that Ocean Motion will be moved to Demon Drops location and a "new flying style ride" will replace Ocean Motion and will change the skyline with its height. Also is saying this is semi-confirmed.

Actually they are more than likely getting a Wind Seeker which is similar to a Starflyer but allows for the park to run it in windy weather. Not sure on how valid this site is but looks like a lawsuit might be brewing for Ceder Point.

If that site is true...then CP may be in some trouble.

Hence why they should cancel the project and install a B & M flyer instead.

If they install anything but a coaster comparable in excitement to Maverick, I'm going to be very disappointed and will post-pone my biannual visit until 2012.

Because I love seeing people who think CP deserves a coaster every year upset, especially when they're getting a perfectly good ride even if it's not a coaster.

I agree with freddie. Cedar Point isnt just a coaster park. It's a park ment to have a variety of rides. Even though a B&M Flyer would be a good idea, CP is running out of room for coaster. Perhaps they should close off a certain area if they want to build another coaster. My thoughts are put something in the parking lot behind Disaster Transport. No one uses that.

As much as I love CF more than SF...I just can't see CP keeping up with MM in the coming years. CP has limited room and MM really has alot of room around it...and KI has alot of room too (not saying they are going to try and overtake CP). CP will eventually need to sacrifice other rides to build coasters like they did for Maverick and I am not in favor of that unless it is something that is obviously needed.

But the thing is, they will have to eventually have to replace the old rides in the near futre, most likely the Gemini and Cedar Creek Mine Ride because of their age. But I would hate to see those rides go because they are really good.

Agreed. Each ride there has its own story...it's just a matter of what can go and what should stay.

Edit: New picture just posted...picture of 2 people walking on the beach...links to an old song called "Side by Side." Maybe suggesting the location near the beach?

A 400ft Star flyer looks freaky as hell. I'm not really scared to ride any rides, but all that is is a big ass yo-yo, and I hate those. Ugh. I highly highly doubt we will see a coaster this year, which is fine with me. I still like CP's lineup of rides. It just makes me happy that they are even getting a new ride. I hope it makes up for that shitty shoot the rapids ride.

I'm thinking about going to CP next year, so I'd like it to be a coaster, but I'd certainly be okay with it not being one. I love CP.

I don't think any of the existing coasters would go except Disaster Transport.

A coaster isn't that important in my opinion. But... Cedar Point has broke the height record every 11 years. '78 Gemini, '89 Magnum, '00 Milenium Force. New heights for 2011?

I saw that this morning...but it was first posted in 2000. Still an interesting idea though. Let's go back to the 500 foot B&M racing flyer idea!
