I think this is more geared to people stealing the device, etc., and not really for everyday normal use.

As the article stated, this is WAY overkill for an anti-theft system. If this software isn't illegal right now, it should be.

I'm a Mac, and this is outrageous. I can hope for one (or both) of two things: the patent is declined, or this type of software is deemed illegal. Honestly, I'd love some software similar to this that would prevent theft of my devices, but this seems like it's way, way, WAY overkill. Apple, this is not a good idea.

Apple files patents for everything imaginable, even if they don't plan on implementing the idea. Hell, even if they don't have a clue how to implement the idea, they still file patents in case somebody else decides to use the idea.

WINDOWS FTW! Hahahaha This is the beginning to the end of the world. Computers and Surrogates will control the world one day.

You will have to agree for them to use your face before they can put this into effect so this will not be happening, but the other data they can use.

just another reason not to buy mac products.
