Since recently discovering a fix to a problem with my 3ds and the way they showed up in the sim, I wanted to test out the fix with a ride I've wanted to do forever. MK-Ultra is an Intamin-style drop/giga coaster that sits at its highest point of 371ft. and reaches speeds as high as 100mph. The ride's method of supporting the huge drop is a tower which also acts as an observation deck equipt with a double-decker elevator for access. The ride will feature underground tunnels and fog effects when finished. The layout is split into 2 parts: the high speed section, and a slower more compact megalite-ish approach to return to the station.

The name was originally Ultimatum but it wasn't clicking so I named it after the Muse song, MK Ultra. But, more particularly what Muse named their song after, the code name for a covert, illegal CIA human research program, run by the Office of Scientific Intelligence that ran from around 1950 to sometime in the 60's.

It slows the train down from like 90mph to around 55 so it can do smaller manuvers with the track. Since I am keeping the layout relatively short, I wanted to slow the train downquite a bit so I can add something a little more exciting rather than a long-drawn out turn into the breaks.

I plan to. I'm doing everything like the holding brakes, lims, and cable lift last.

Perhaps you could center the disk at the top if it isn't centered since it looks funky cantilevered off to the side.

^ I think the third support opposite of that 1st picture is holding up the rest of that disk. I thought the same thing. Is does look weird.

It looks misscentered, but the 3rd support is alot bigger than the 2 on the sides.

Scenery looks cool, so I hope the trackwork is up to par.

So the supports are at 90 degree angles instead of 120 degree angles from each other?

Yeah. Theres the main tube running up the middle. Then there is the 2 thick concrete supports on either side, and behind it is the larger concrete support.

So it's a T shaped support setup for a 30 story concrete disk?

Yeah, I guess? I mean, I'm no architect. But note that the disk is not center. Theres no huge chunk of the disk unsupported.

Wow

Why didn't you use 120 degree angles?

Because it wouldnt of looked as smooth with the vertical red beams running up the center at every 45*

Also, the 3 support columns have a trapezium shape. They widen as the move away from the center column.
