Americas problem is that we try to police the world. At first we went for weapons of mass destruction, but even after we didnt find any there, we stayed. Why? We didnt like the muslum culture. This topic is basically an oxymoron. There will still be combat there for quite some time. Saying combat is done is nothing more than a smokescreen. Sure we wont be planning operations but it doesnt mean things will get any less heated than they are.

The homeless thing is far more complicated than money.

I think we should legalize, taxate & regulate;

1. Less potent and addictive drugs.
2. Gambling
3. Prostitution

Tax the poop out of every company that ships jobs overseas, I think a $100,000 flat tax per outsourced job should be sufficient. (This should also stop walmart from deflating the value of our currency) Enter into free trade agreements to stop the free rain of poop being imported into this country and stop our inability to export anything. If we trade it will be free both ways, if not, we will match the other countries import/export fees. Secure the boarders, but rework the entrance and immigration policies.

Nuclear weapons destroy entire cities, and leave victims to slowly die of radiation sickness. Using them is a terrible idea in any war, but especially stupid in a counter-insurgency, where the enemy is largely encamped in cities, but the government is on our side. Basically, you're asking why we didn't murder hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians to kill a few terrorists. Nuking, say, Baghdad would be a far worse atrocity than 9/11.

Oh yeah, and it would be absolutely guaranteed to piss off half the muslim world, and vastly increase the number of people who want us dead.
