So, I recently took a break from Newton to focus on hand building with the thoughts of creating something along the lines of an el loco, but quickly spun off track when I came up with this crazy idea. It starts off with a right turn out of the station and runs directly into a 65 MPH launch. It then careens up the world's steepest ascent on a massive 150 foot structure. Then, while still 150 feet in the air, it executes the world's first full inversion helix. Finally, after a quick pause, it plummets down the world's steepest unbraked drop, and wraps up with an intense airtime hill/brakerun. Anyways, here are some pics:

Anyways, comments/questions/suggestions are welcome!

Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

Woah! It looks real cool, I could imagine it, If it were real hanging upside down for that long would feel all weird!

You actually are only upside down for a few seconds, seeing as it is only really upside down for around a quarter of the helix. I made sure that nobody got too much hangtime.

I don't have a pic right now, but I have added a sign to the top of the support structure facing the drop that says "Bye". That is the last thing riders see before they plummet.

Freaking epic, if a little short.

Lol.

WOW, that is a COOL idea, I tried that with the minicoaster contest...did not end up nearly as nice as yours! Too small.

And sorry 'bout before...did not know you were trying to defend me...sounded strange. I was "in the moment"...I guess, just sounded wrong then. XD

In simple words, unrealistic and harmful.

Try reserving judgment until you see what the actual forces are. Example:

Hey slosprint! What are the maximum positive, negative, and lateral Gs this thing pulls?

Lats are 1.2 on the helix, but it transitions into them gradually, so it is more like leaning on your side than anything. Max verticals are 4.5 on the ascent, and negatives pull around -1.2 in the back on the drop (1.4 if you view it at 25%, but only for a moment).

1.2 is kind of a lot, is there any way of lowering that?

1.2 lats or negative gs?

lats, -1.2gs is fine, thats what El Toro pulls on the drop back row.

Oh, well on any el loco it pulls at least that amount of lats on the heart line roll, it is pretty much impossible to have 90* banking on a slow section while still rotating and not have over 1 lateral g. I assure you that the transition is smooth though, and it gradually builds up and down over a period of around 4 secs, and it doesn't just slam all those gs on at once.

There is pain and then there is fun pain. Mine is the latter.

I'm not a fan of that red box track, it just looks....weird.

other than that I like the concept and I'm really looking forward to downloading this.

With a hill that tall, and a radius that tight at the top, any change in speed common to a normal launch will result in the forces being different than what you wanted, or a rollback. That could be back. I suggest increasing the radius at the top of the ascent...just because the forces don't change much in NL doesn't necessarily mean it's completely realistic for real life, and IMO in NL for a realistic design, you're working to make the ride function as if it were real.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll see if I can adjust it without effecting the forces too much or causing it to roll back.

Edit: How much would you say the speed on an LSM/LIM launch fluctuates? I could set it to a value and test it with varying speeds to see if it works ok.

I have no clue...I know it does based on train weight from what I've heard about Volcano and Freeze, but I don't know how much. I just figure a radius that tight after such a (relatively) long ascent following a launch is probably a bad idea.
