[2010-09-15 15:09:57] freddie: kid who died last month put his car in a ditch

[2010-09-15 15:10:48] A113: i don't get it
[2010-09-15 15:11:30] gazag: whats not to get? that he gave up on life and couldent take the pain anymore
[2010-09-15 15:11:51] gazag: he has crossed over to the other plain and will be there when you come to the end of your time
[2010-09-15 15:12:04] A113: but
[2010-09-15 15:12:05] SauronHimself: plane*
[2010-09-15 15:12:07] A113: i knew him
[2010-09-15 15:12:10] A113: why is he gone
[2010-09-15 15:12:19] gazag: this just happened to be his. he is in another place now. you should be happy hes not in anymore pain
[2010-09-15 15:12:27] fear_the_four: yeah turn around and you will see me
[2010-09-15 15:12:30] gazag: hes gone because it was his time to go.
[2010-09-15 15:12:55] SauronHimself: It's one thing to lose friends as a young person, but think of your grandparents' generation.
[2010-09-15 15:12:57] slosprint: THere isn't a reason for everything, A113
[2010-09-15 15:13:05] SauronHimself: They see their friends die almost on a weekly basis.
[2010-09-15 15:13:17] slosprint: I mean, Physical reason yes, but poop happens
[2010-09-15 15:13:35] slosprint: someone can be in the wrong place at the wrong time
[2010-09-15 15:13:47] slosprint: anything really
[2010-09-15 15:13:58] slosprint: THat's why you have to enjoy life while you can
[2010-09-15 15:14:11] gazag: i belive everybody has a time to cross, some know when this is others dont
[2010-09-15 15:14:33] gazag: life is short and precious, maximise it and enjoy it to its fullest
[2010-09-15 15:14:53] slosprint: ^^ That is a really mysterious scentence, Are you going to explain it more or just leave us wondering?
[2010-09-15 15:15:08] fear_the_four: slosprint are you a preacher now? I dont like preachers
[2010-09-15 15:15:34] slosprint: WHat did I say to make you think that?
[2010-09-15 15:15:38] gazag: i shall lever you to belive what you want to belive, i know what i belive and what rules i live by
[2010-09-15 15:17:02] fear_the_four: [15:13:58] slosprint: THat's why you have to enjoy life while you can
[2010-09-15 15:17:08] slosprint: I didn't preach anything
[2010-09-15 15:17:17] fear_the_four: i heard this preacher say that about 10 times
[2010-09-15 15:17:23] slosprint: That isn't preaching
[2010-09-15 15:17:26] fear_the_four: just reminded me of you being one lol
[2010-09-15 15:17:34] fear_the_four: i know
[2010-09-15 15:17:48] gazag: its a true scentence FTF, but not in the way some people use it
[2010-09-15 15:19:00] slosprint: Observation 1: life is limited
[2010-09-15 15:19:18] gazag: that isnt true
[2010-09-15 15:19:20] slosprint: Observation 2: Limited things are more valueable than non limited things
[2010-09-15 15:19:33] gazag: physical form is limited, lift isnt
[2010-09-15 15:19:44] gazag: life*
[2010-09-15 15:19:44] slosprint: point: Life is valueable
[2010-09-15 15:20:01] slosprint: Nol life as a whole
[2010-09-15 15:20:11] slosprint: I mean life on the individual scale
[2010-09-15 15:20:36] slosprint: there is no way to take someone elses's life for your own (not including transplants etc)
[2010-09-15 15:20:47] slosprint: there is no barter and trade
[2010-09-15 15:20:51] gazag: the physical plane of life is valuable, life itself isnt limited though just your existance on the physical plane
[2010-09-15 15:21:16] gazag: man your belifes are totally diffrent to mine
[2010-09-15 15:21:21] slosprint: The life of the individual is
[2010-09-15 15:22:12] slosprint: I mean, there is loosely defined "evidence" for reincarnationtion, although I don't find it convincing
[2010-09-15 15:22:36] slosprint: I would argue that life is completely dependant on the physical pane
[2010-09-15 15:22:57] slosprint: life as we know it is all about our senses and our ability to process them
[2010-09-15 15:23:05] gazag: reincarnationtion, no i dont belive in. however i do belive in the soul and
[2010-09-15 15:23:19] A113: this sucks balls
[2010-09-15 15:23:19] gazag: that is is possiable to give or steal someonelses soul
[2010-09-15 15:23:22] slosprint: Without eyes, there is no sight
[2010-09-15 15:23:45] slosprint: without ears, there is no hearing
[2010-09-15 15:24:06] gazag: but seeing isnt beliveing
[2010-09-15 15:24:37] slosprint: If you had no senses you would not be able to believe anything
[2010-09-15 15:24:58] slosprint: You would not have the ability of language to think with
[2010-09-15 15:25:10] slosprint: you would have no sights for your imagination
[2010-09-15 15:25:32] gazag: not true, if you had no scences you would have no limitation to your imagenation
[2010-09-15 15:25:35] slosprint: even your dreams are limited to what you can see, hear, touch, feel
[2010-09-15 15:26:13] gazag: for people with scences yes, but if you didnt have them you can dream and belive anything even the imposiable
[2010-09-15 15:26:19] slosprint: Yes, but you would have no means to interperet that imagination in to intelligent thought
[2010-09-15 15:26:34] jayman: lay off the mushrooms man..
[2010-09-15 15:26:44] slosprint: me?
[2010-09-15 15:26:51] jayman: gazag
[2010-09-15 15:26:52] slosprint: or gaz?
[2010-09-15 15:26:55] slosprint: oh
[2010-09-15 15:27:05] gazag: intelligent thought is an illusion in the imagination
[2010-09-15 15:27:09] jayman: you too.
[2010-09-15 15:27:24] jayman: to you yes.
[2010-09-15 15:27:24] gazag: you dont need input to create output
[2010-09-15 15:27:41] slosprint: Evidence?
[2010-09-15 15:27:45] slosprint: source?
[2010-09-15 15:27:48] slosprint: anything?
[2010-09-15 15:27:59] jayman: you've eluded into thinking you're capable of intelligent thought
[2010-09-15 15:28:00] slosprint: anything whatsoever?
[2010-09-15 15:28:12] jayman: de
[2010-09-15 15:28:31] gazag: ok
[2010-09-15 15:28:42] SauronHimself: back. That was a good dump.
[2010-09-15 15:28:43] slosprint: I am quite happy with the thought of nothing after death
[2010-09-15 15:28:57] slosprint: no reason to worry, because I won't know it when I am
[2010-09-15 15:28:59] fear_the_four: way to be a boner and ruin the chat mood
[2010-09-15 15:29:10] slosprint: lol
[2010-09-15 15:29:25] jayman: what color and shape?
[2010-09-15 15:29:26] slosprint: same as before I was alive
[2010-09-15 15:29:31] slosprint: I didn't mind it then
[2010-09-15 15:29:40] jayman: floater or sinker?
[2010-09-15 15:29:44] slosprint: I was dead for billions of years before I was alive
[2010-09-15 15:29:47] SauronHimself: auburn brown; tortoise shell
[2010-09-15 15:29:47] gazag: im also quite happy for you to belive that. you will go to limbo for it
[2010-09-15 15:30:00] slosprint: lol k
[2010-09-15 15:30:11] fear_the_four: drink kool aid and it will be green
[2010-09-15 15:30:13] gazag: no you didnt have a soul before you came to the physical plane
[2010-09-15 15:31:01] slosprint: What are you basing this on Gaz?
[2010-09-15 15:31:38] gazag: because im finding this a very intresting conversation than some of the other topics in here that
[2010-09-15 15:31:40] fear_the_four: i need to study for me driving test
[2010-09-15 15:31:47] gazag: just turn to dicks and boobs
[2010-09-15 15:32:08] SauronHimself: boobs are great. especially the big ones.
[2010-09-15 15:32:25] fear_the_four: not too big
[2010-09-15 15:32:43] Jcoasters: yes. boobs are good
[2010-09-15 15:32:56] SauronHimself: You need an ample titty love size
[2010-09-15 15:33:00] slosprint: Seriously though, If the soul is created at birth why does it not end with death?
[2010-09-15 15:33:17] slosprint: It seems that it starts with something that happens in the beginning of life
[2010-09-15 15:33:28] slosprint: assuming there is a soul of course
[2010-09-15 15:33:50] slosprint: Is it the beginning of brain function?
[2010-09-15 15:33:55] slosprint: Heartbeat?
[2010-09-15 15:34:17] fear_the_four: which came first
[2010-09-15 15:34:22] fear_the_four: the chicken or the egg
[2010-09-15 15:34:24] fear_the_four: ?
[2010-09-15 15:34:24] slosprint: the egg
[2010-09-15 15:34:32] gazag: i dont belive that you are born with a soul, but that it is built through life
[2010-09-15 15:34:35] slosprint: Eggs existed long before chickens
[2010-09-15 15:34:36] fear_the_four: your question to be answered
[2010-09-15 15:35:02] slosprint: ok, so when a baby dies he just dies
[2010-09-15 15:35:03] fear_the_four: proffffffff?
[2010-09-15 15:35:07] fear_the_four: yes
[2010-09-15 15:35:10] slosprint: nothing after
[2010-09-15 15:35:15] fear_the_four: congradulations
[2010-09-15 15:35:17] slosprint: k
[2010-09-15 15:35:20] gazag: so i belive yes
[2010-09-15 15:35:31] slosprint: ok
[2010-09-15 15:35:39] gazag: i also belive that the same happens during suicide
[2010-09-15 15:35:42] slosprint: great
[2010-09-15 15:35:51] fear_the_four: commit suicide
[2010-09-15 15:35:56] SauronHimself: On an infinitely long timeline, the probability that you will love another life or relive your current one is 100%.
[2010-09-15 15:35:57] slosprint: I don't want to live forever
[2010-09-15 15:35:58] fear_the_four: go to hell bitch
[2010-09-15 15:36:01] slosprint: It would suck
[2010-09-15 15:36:16] SauronHimself: which works mathematically because it's all about integrals
[2010-09-15 15:36:28] slosprint: Not if the universe is ever expanding
[2010-09-15 15:36:52] SauronHimself: let me break it down to you Barney style...
[2010-09-15 15:36:54] slosprint: Plus, you wouldn't remember anything
[2010-09-15 15:36:58] gazag: i wont live forever, the energys that you have acumulated during life will fade and your soul will dissapeer
[2010-09-15 15:36:58] slosprint: so it isn't you
[2010-09-15 15:37:22] slosprint: Ok, so how is your theory any more comforting or anything than mine?
[2010-09-15 15:37:28] SauronHimself: We perceive only 3 dimensions moving in the 4th, so we only see the universe forever expanding.
[2010-09-15 15:37:34] slosprint: Why does there have to be something after death
[2010-09-15 15:37:39] fear_the_four: you're a ginger
[2010-09-15 15:37:41] SauronHimself: Up in the 11th dimension, everything that ever was, is, and will be has already happened.
[2010-09-15 15:37:42] fear_the_four: you have no soul
[2010-09-15 15:37:48] slosprint: no, I'm not
[2010-09-15 15:37:50] gazag: why dosent there?
[2010-09-15 15:37:56] slosprint: But I do have no soul
[2010-09-15 15:38:18] slosprint: Because there is no reason to believe there is
[2010-09-15 15:38:18] SauronHimself: In essence, you will live every possible life making every possible choice.
[2010-09-15 15:38:23] slosprint: No evidence
[2010-09-15 15:38:27] slosprint: no comfort
[2010-09-15 15:38:31] slosprint: no nothing
[2010-09-15 15:38:38] gazag: you dont need evidence to belive
[2010-09-15 15:39:10] SauronHimself: if you want more confusion, the probability of God existing is the same probability is Him not existing
[2010-09-15 15:39:28] SauronHimself: but whichever one you believe, you're both correct.
[2010-09-15 15:39:36] slosprint: Yes, but what reason do you have for believing?
[2010-09-15 15:39:37] SauronHimself: It's a Schrodinger's cat situation.
[2010-09-15 15:39:46] gazag: why do i need one?
[2010-09-15 15:39:47] slosprint: no, sauron, it's not
[2010-09-15 15:40:07] slosprint: If god created the universe than he is more complex than the universe itself
[2010-09-15 15:40:28] SauronHimself: Of course, because this is only one universe in one existence
[2010-09-15 15:40:43] SauronHimself: Hence why my theory is that "God" is the embodiment of the 11th dimension.
[2010-09-15 15:40:50] gazag: if a tree falls in the woods and nobody is arround to hear it, does it still make a noise?
[2010-09-15 15:41:00] slosprint: then why call him god?
[2010-09-15 15:41:03] Jcoasters: yes
[2010-09-15 15:41:09] SauronHimself: why He can be omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent
[2010-09-15 15:41:13] slosprint: Just call it the 11th dimension
[2010-09-15 15:41:19] gazag: why does it make a noise then
[2010-09-15 15:41:24] SauronHimself: God is more efficient
[2010-09-15 15:41:28] slosprint: DOn't name things god just for the hell of it
[2010-09-15 15:41:32] slosprint: no he isn't
[2010-09-15 15:41:51] SauronHimself: takes heck of a lot less time to say God than 11th dimension
[2010-09-15 15:41:56] gazag: god is a greek term for heavenly beings
[2010-09-15 15:42:02] SauronHimself: one syllable versus 6
[2010-09-15 15:42:04] slosprint: If he was here at the beginning of all universes than he cannot be accounted for by anything but random chance
[2010-09-15 15:42:24] slosprint: THe only reasonable explanation is that He evolved
[2010-09-15 15:42:33] slosprint: otherwise you have redoubled the question
[2010-09-15 15:42:49] SauronHimself: Oh and, gaz, the tree does and does not make a sound.
[2010-09-15 15:42:53] SauronHimself: It depends on your measurement.
[2010-09-15 15:43:00] slosprint: It depends on how you define noise
[2010-09-15 15:43:20] slosprint: It can be oserved that every tree ever to fall in the wods makes a sound
[2010-09-15 15:43:24] SauronHimself: well we're assuming that we all know what a noise is
[2010-09-15 15:43:30] slosprint: therefore there is no reason to think that it doesn't
[2010-09-15 15:43:32] SauronHimself: but your measurement affects the outcome
[2010-09-15 15:43:47] slosprint: if it didn't thant congrats, you have just violated the laws of physics
[2010-09-15 15:44:03] gazag: however the mesurement is irelevent since there is nobody there to measure the level of it
[2010-09-15 15:44:04] fear_the_four: slosprint no matter what YOU ARE WRONG
[2010-09-15 15:44:08] fear_the_four: give up lol
[2010-09-15 15:44:39] slosprint: Plz present valid argument to show that I am incorrect
[2010-09-15 15:44:45] slosprint: otherwise GTFO
[2010-09-15 15:45:09] fear_the_four: my valid argument is sauron lol
[2010-09-15 15:45:17] gazag: but do the laws of physics apply if your not there to witness them?
[2010-09-15 15:45:27] SauronHimself: yes and no
[2010-09-15 15:45:28] slosprint: yes
[2010-09-15 15:45:40] slosprint: Except before the big bang
[2010-09-15 15:45:41] SauronHimself: You can't define the laws of physics unless you observe them
[2010-09-15 15:45:44] Jcoasters: yes
[2010-09-15 15:45:47] gazag: how do you know this?
[2010-09-15 15:45:49] slosprint: which they may not
[2010-09-15 15:46:03] slosprint: Because all historic record and evidence complies
[2010-09-15 15:46:30] gazag: however if your not there to witness them taking place you are simply beliveing they do
[2010-09-15 15:46:35] SauronHimself: historic records are just a collection of observed physics
[2010-09-15 15:46:46] slosprint: Please don't turn this into a discussion about solipsism
[2010-09-15 15:46:50] slosprint: please
[2010-09-15 15:46:52] slosprint: please
[2010-09-15 15:46:54] slosprint: please
[2010-09-15 15:47:06] gazag: were way past that time now
[2010-09-15 15:47:09] coasterpimp: oh great
[2010-09-15 15:47:10] slosprint: I have reason to believe what I believe
[2010-09-15 15:47:21] coasterpimp: I just entered into some kind of argument
[2010-09-15 15:47:25] slosprint: Plz state your reason
[2010-09-15 15:47:28] slosprint: yes you did
[2010-09-15 15:47:43] fear_the_four: yes a argument with a midget and a physics major lol
[2010-09-15 15:47:49] slosprint: WHy believe in the least likely thing just for the hell of it?
[2010-09-15 15:48:31] fear_the_four: what makes your reason more likely?
[2010-09-15 15:48:31] gazag: because its is as plausable as the most likely thing, and if you dont witness it how do you know that
[2010-09-15 15:48:40] gazag: the most likely thing did happen?
[2010-09-15 15:48:41] fear_the_four: oh oh ho wait
[2010-09-15 15:48:44] fear_the_four: it doesnt
[2010-09-15 15:48:55] slosprint: It is not as plausible
[2010-09-15 15:49:13] gazag: but that dosent mean that isnt what happened
[2010-09-15 15:49:16] slosprint: Due to the fact that there is no evidence for it
[2010-09-15 15:49:26] slosprint: I gotta go do HW
[2010-09-15 15:49:32] gazag: you belive the most plausable thing happend but you didnt witness it
[2010-09-15 15:49:33] slosprint: I can continue this later
[2010-09-15 15:49:42] slosprint: *FACEPALM*
[2010-09-15 15:49:42] gazag: aww is your brain hurting

That was fun [lol] I'll be sure to try and finish up HW quickly. Quick question: How can you have basis in not believing in something? It is due to the fact that the burden of proof lies with the person making the positive claim, and when they don't provide that proof why believe them? I would give the same reasons for not believing in Santa or unicorns. The FSM however, is very real XD.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

Roller coasters are just one form of proof of the FSM's existence. (Any enthusiast should see the resemblence especially with the most holy of track elements: the spaghetti bowl.) More proof of the FSM here: http://www.venganza.org/

Not everything can be explained by science. Let's explain it with crazy superstitious ideas then! After all, before there were coasters, people wanted to know if they could levitate lol.

Do you think everyone is going to read that?? I didn't hehe.

But I was interested by the title nonetheless. It's sad, but the sciences point to no, and I definitely agree there would be no possible way for this body to enter another life after it dies, unless the idea of 'spirits' is a more profound one than any being could deduce in this life.

So I just guess we'll find out [;)]

The Make-A-Wish Foundation could have made that happen a few years ago...

of course there is life after your death:

The worms, maggots and other ground dwelling creatures eat your lifeless body and turn you into their waste which in turn fertilises the ground, which in turn grows into grass etc etc endless cycle of life blah blah.

At the end of the day, nature is pretty clever, nothing goes to waste and the carbon and other such materials that once made up your body might find themselves in the body of another creature or tree or plant or whatever, a few hundred, thousand, million years down the line.

More directly to your question though: You have no life after you are dead, cus... you're dead..? I don't feel like it's a particularly difficult concept to grasp, but some people don't seem to want to accept it. I think people are less scared of death if they trick themselves into believing that there's more for your consciousness after you die. But there isn't, so there you go.

Whether you like it or not does not affect whether it is true.

i belive in the soul as a universal energy and that it does continue to exist for a period of time after death, i dont belive that when we die thats just it. this is the reason i give for explaning ghosts in which i belive.

Paranormal activity such as ghosts can have many different explanations, the LEAST likely of all is that they are a human soul trapped in some form of limbo.

The most likely explanation is your locality to electricity pylons. Man, electro magnetism love with your brain.

I think OBE's pretty much confirm that there is a life after death and you know how when old people are on their deathbed and they go "Im coming for you grandma!!!!" I wonder if they are ACTUALLY seeing their dead relatives.
