So guys a simple question, are you buying into the whole motion gaming gimmick?

Personally, I hate it, it's just one of those things that we dont need. What was wrong with a regular controller? why do we need it at all?

It's not something I'm really bothered by, it's not something for me but I know a lot of other people (casual gamers) like it. The whole thing has taken casual gaming to a different level, because older people do it now too. My mom has her own wii that she plays quite often. No way would she own an XBox or PS3, so Nintendo saw a chance to dominate a particular market and they executed it well. Microsoft and Sony are now attempting to join the band-wagon with their own bits of kit and why wouldn't they? They've seen how succesful it's been for Nintendo.

Although the wii isn't the first time people have tried to use motion control, remember the Eye Toy? As an example. The Wii however, definitely is the first time that both the technology and marketing were of a good enough level that it worked.

But like I say, it's not for me, I'll just stick with my PS3 for my gaming enjoyment, and my XBox for Halo.

I like the wii because of the Metroid and not much else lol.

I think that Sony made a mistake going the direction they did as they don't really have a suitable audience.

You sir have obviously not been hammered while playing multiplayer Wii.

EXCELLENT GAME IDEA BELOW:

Name of the game is "drunk driving".

1. Play Mario Kart Wii using the wiimote or if you have it, the steering wheel. No gamecube controller bullshit.

2. At the start of each race each player has a beer or half a bee, depending on how drunk they want to get.

3. The beer must be finished before and the player reaches the finish line but after the starting countdown (so you don't chug it during the countdown.

NO STRAWS ALLOWED!

This leaves quite a bit o strategy because one can chose to take sips on straight sections or to chug it all at the beginning and then play catch up.

Summary: Finish your drink without a straw before the race ends. No drinking until the race has started.

Have fun!

Rayman Raving Rabbids is pretty good (especially the movie theatre game), Mario Party, etc. Plenty of games to play in a group.

Aside from that Metroid, Mario Galaxy, and Super Monkeyball have been pretty tits.

Yeah, the Wii is quite fun when there's a few people and there's alcohol or something. But that's not what "gaming" is, is it? If anything, that's just another acitivity you can break out at a party or something.

"Gaming" is essentially for passing the time when you are alone, at its core, when you think about it.

I think that Trilogy was awesome but I really kinda dislike Galaxy and in particular SSBB, they just seem so... empty.

I dislike how Nintendo pretty much shut out most of the mainstream/core gaming market with the Wii. There are fewer titles worth playing on there than there are franchises on other systems. That and Nintendo's willing to bring the Nintendo 3DS's graphics up to date but is unwilling to release a Wii with video output that doesn't look like complete blurry garbage on the majority of TV's.

All casual gaming can easily be described as video games for people who don't like video games. They have no depth and if they're even fun, they're only fun for 20 minutes.

^Even though that song is so silly and daring, there is truth in the lyrics. Good find.

I played the Wii for about 2 weeks. Mainly with my nephew, 12 and niece, 14. And 1 day all day, playing tennis to where I can use either arm. But when it got to point where my nephew can sit down and obliterate anyone who plays him at anytime, kind of defeats the purpose of the Wii getting people to stand up and get into it. That's my nickel, if it's worth anything.

Xbox360 Rocks! PS3 Rocks even more!! Haven't found a better SB-FPS than MAG. Valor Company Rules!!! Halo's cool too, more of a run and gun though.

you know there's been a whole variety of different controllers that nintendo's attempted before, and the only reason this took off is because although the controls sucked balls, there peripherals sucked balls alot less than these...
man. i would put links here, but i'll just say there names.
