hahahaha poor BGT, you got jipped out of what could've been a really awesome middle section of the ride. Good thing most of the rest is gonna be pretty awesome, because I just saw way too much of the bad parts of Thunder Dolphin in that last video.
So I'm guessing the 5th video is just going to be the whole layout of the ride.
I think people are being too quick to judge this ride. I think it has the potential. However, no one knows how the ride is going to be until the first reviews start to come out. I don't know how many times i've heard people say things like "I didn't expect the ride to be that great", or "that ride had a lot more air time than expected". Although everyone knows that there are also the "This ride had a lot of potential, but just turned out to be 'ok'". or "They trimmed the poop out of this ride and ruined it."
Let's just wait and see, before we give it the thumbs up or thumbs down.
That's often true, but usually you can tell a whole lot from shaping and such in a (relatively) well done POV. Generally tougher to do on wooden coasters of course, but you can get a decent idea of how a ride will run from videos like these.
I don't think so, given the speed/banking magnitude/banking rotations/radii. I don't think it will be as slow as TD's trick track, but based on what we've been presented, I'm fairly certain it won't be anywhere near as exciting as any similar section on Maverick.
Maybe somewhere in between Thunder Dolphin and the ending of El Toro, but closer to Thunder Dolphin because it will lack both the high speed and 3-4G pushes between banking transitions that El Toro has.
I think the animation doesn't tell us anything except what the elements are, really..Just going to have to wait and see. I have a feeling this is going to turn out to be pretty sick though, seems to be so many different things all happening in one ride.
Thats because Keith McVeen gets the acctual CAD files and has 3dMAx ready to import it. The only work he does is import his script for the motion and basically go to work making it pretty.
Those transitions on Maverick, other than the drop are basically perfect. Ive got a bunch of rides on Mav, thats basically it.
Yep, I believe everything in McVeen's videos are effectively perfect, except for the banking which is usually shows some imperfections for whatever reason. Still, those are the best out there overall.
This one I don't believe is a McVeen video. They definitely imported the CAD data as McVeen does, but I'm not sure whether they got all the banking right...Intamin does some real "weird" stuff, but I question the entry to the figure 8, and the transition after the roll. Unusual since most of the rest of the banking looks perfect. Like I said though, you really never know with them.
The BGT animation is definitely a low quality animation compared to a McVeen animation...i don't think it is totally representative of the ride...I guess we'll have to wait and see. I at least see bout 5 really good opportunities for great air, which makes me happy as a central Florida resident.
