Hello!

I just registered here because Robb Alvey banished me from his kingdom and suggested I come here instead. Apparently I'm an asshole, and I will get along with the people here because you are assholes too (his words not mine).

I think I'll like it here a good bit better. Thanks for having me!

[lol] welcome to the site! I think you will fit in just fine here lol. Don't feed the trolls though, specifically CoasterkidMWM and Cool5 (and myself I guess), and avoid the emos.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

I wouldn't be too upset if I got banned from TPR. I would actually be elated. (I don't have an account there).

Glad to have you, I'm new too. :-)

@TFDecot I'm pretty sure you want to register for http://www.coastercrazy.com - seems to be the local hangout for TPR rejects.

[:D]

Seriously though, thanks for the replies. Look forward to talking about parks and coasters and everything.

^The only good parts about Coastersims IMO were the Park Pack and some of the really good tracks such as Thunderhead Falls. Other than that, everything was too uptight there.

Thanks! I bumped a 2 day old thread and quoted Wayne Gretzky, which got me banned for a week. Then he saw I said something about TPR being worshiped by 14-17 year old nerds on twitter earlier. That got me a permanent ban.

Although we had other "disagreements" in the past; disagreements meaning I said something not in complete agreement with him or his wife. He would typically respond with some expletive filled tirade personally insulting me while deleting my posts in response and threatening to ban me. Its really not a big deal, his house his rules, and I'm sure he'll have fun stomping around his sand box without me getting in the way of people stroking his ego.

Ok dude, let's be real.

You make it sound like they've banned you over nothing, but it sounds like that was just the final straw. I've read almost everything you've posted there and seen the responses. You've been kind of rude and douchy to people on TPR's forum for a long time. I've seen the moderators, not just Robb, warn you several times. Even Elissa has given you a warning or two. I think you've actually been pretty disrespectful to everyone there and you finally just ran out of rope. Why would someone want you on their site when you go around bad mouthing them like that? Don't make it sound like you're wearing some sort of innocent halo.

Don't try to blame other people when you act like an ass. Be responsible for your own actions!

Welcome to CoasterCrazy. I think the crazy in this site's name is beginning to take form.

Thanks! That's fine you feel that way. I respectfully disagree, though.

I feel like most people there are quite alright and I got along with most people reasonably well. I will admit to being rude to some posters - notably people in the KD and SFA threads. In those cases I was hardly the only one. I got plenty of flack and attitude from people in other instances and have no problem responding in kind to that behavior.

I didn't mean to make it sound like it was nothing this time; more like it was a whole lot of nothings blown out of proportion over several years and I think we just both got tired of each others' crap and for once I didn't send him a PM apologizing.

I admittedly might sound rude or snide online while disagreeing with people at times; but I normally don't resort to name calling or other insults. Is simply disagreeing what makes me come off as an ass? I'd like to think I typically do it in a way that isn't insulting to people and simply trying to discuss the topic at hand. Which is the entire reason I come to message boards, to have a discussion with people I don't always see 100% eye to eye with.

It seems to me that on his message boards Robb won't stand for disagreement. He would say they accept all opinions as long as you present them the "right way"; I simply find that to be hogwash and not true. Nearly every time I see people disagree with his opinion he will cite his years of experience, insult and demean them, before eventually telling them to drop it or be banned. He controls that place like a dictatorship and cannot seem to handle more than a small amount of someone disagreeing before flying off the handle on them.

Like I said before, its his place so he can act that way if he wants; but I find it unprofessional and not enjoyable from a member standpoint.

Also, my comment on twitter was made in jest while others (coasterrumors) were making jokes about this very place. Apparently a case of them having a sense of humor as long as people aren't making fun of them or TPR.

If that is the kind of "community" people want to be in then that is fine, I will be happy to not take part any longer though, personally. I appreciate the news, trip reports and other content very much; but frankly the discussions, primarily when Robb or Elissa become involved, are not enjoyable in the least. I have no desire to walk on eggshells in every discussion, simply agreeing with him day in and day out, or deal with him flipping out on me.

Rob is the biggest douche of them all, lol. The only good thing about TPR is around 4% of trip report photos, mounted POV's, and the park index.

God forbid you don't agree with King Robb, cause if you don't, you are called every name in the book for no reason other than he feels like calling it to you.

But, you can't dish it back. Also, he brings up things that are years old that doesn't even relate to the conversation you are having.

Anyway, really don't feel bad. There are many many many coaster enthusiasts who can't stand Robb and will tell him off. Just read RRC. You will get the best laugh of your life. There's one thread on there where he got so peeved when someone posted a picture of his criminal record and he went ballistic. The picture is still on google as well.

LMAO, I remember hearing about that; I love that if you start typing Robb Alvey into google search "robb alvey criminal record" and "robb alvey criminal" come up as recommendations.

It is kind of funny that in a group such as coaster enthusiasts one person can be on so many people's bad sides.

I agree that TPR is Robb's house, so he can make whatever rules he wants. After all, he pays for the server space. That goes with anyone's property. However, what differentiates CC from TPR is that Oscar and his staff know what is good for business. In the real world people just stop patronizing businesses where they know that the owners and/or managers are belligerent.

Welcome man, I know you'll like it better here than on TPR, even though I've never had an account. From the looks of Robb from his videos and stuff, he is a loser on such an unbelievably huge scale.

Alright, he's got a cool life I guess (to most of us anyway, and ONLY us, ahah), but still looks to me like the guy has the mentality of a 5 year old.
