A Better Attempt at Scoring

I've been lurking around on here for some time now and I would say that I'm rather upset with the amount of scores on here. Yes usually the really good tracks get scores and plenty of them but there are a ton of people that are just starting out and they are honestly trying and need some feedback.

I'm not trying to compare CC to NLE, but they have fewer downloads but more ratings while here there are way more downloads and no scores. I have uploaded 3 tracks to each, nothing great or grand, just a few tracks I've been working on. On this site, I have had a ton of downloads on each track but not a single score, while there I have had very few downloads but a few scores on each track.

All I would like to see is more feedback on everyone's work. Don't only score the good tracks, give the newcomers a score and some feedback as well. Download a ride, ride it, and then drop a score. Simple.

The best thing to tell a newcomer is to work hard and think. That is all that separates the best from the worst. With new comers, in order to tell them everything that's wrong you literally have to teach them all of No Limits and any other programs. When the rides become better, you can give people detail and tell them everything that goes wrong and explain to them what they did wrong. That's why a lot of us don't rate. Also, half the time a newcomer gets advice (that really is fact), they get poop back for it. Not to mention, I will not spend an hour on a rating of a ride that took an hour to do.

So, why would someone on NoLimits-Exchange rate your ride? Because NLE is a dictatorship and Matt forces everybody to rate 20% of the tracks they download. In case you haven't noticed, most of the people on NLE are morons and have no clue what they are talking about. They are all empty rates that are there to just get a rating done, not to rate.

I agree with the first part. If its a coaster that is horrible, like at the transition between sections it just yanks. You don't need to give a detailed rating. Just say something like "Watch some tuts for NL. And download some other coasters. Then check back, you'll see you have lots to change".

I also agree that new kids tend to fight back. But thats usually becouse they've never known about custom supports. Or how to make the coasters smooth.

But I think that all coasters should still be rated. But I think people that rate alot see the screen shot of the coaster, and say "I'm not downloading that". One key to getting downloads for me is getting a screen shot that shows your coaster is good, but don't show the whole coaster. For most people if they see the whole layout, they will not download. I think some people that don't rate are new kids, the others.... they should rate.
