This picture was taken a few days ago.

It looks like they have taken a piece of the track off. Maybe they are going to add trim brakes? Maybe they are going to see if the cars make it to the other side without track? Who knows!

Source?
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

The source could be the poster? The poster took the pic? But is there any announcement of it online? I couldn't find anything. Taken a few days ago? At first I'm kind of skeptical; that tree doesn't look very autumn-ish, the leaves still look largely intact with it. But also if this IS true, with the guess that they would probably add trims, I don't think they would need to remove track to add trims. I don't think it needs more trims anyway!

I think they will add brakes and make it into an epic screamin' squirrel like this:

Not every tree changes color and loses it's leaves during fall lol
This photo was not taken during construction. As you can see in the picture below the hill nearest to the ground is intact. That hill was completed after the first and second hill...Image

It could of been yesterday when this photo was taken, I don't know.

Major whiplash. Perhaps better yet, they could make it a spiraling camelback! SPIRALING CAMELBACK FTW.

maybe they're going to add trims to the second hill and remove the brake run from the first drop, so you still hit 90 m.p.h. even on rcdb it says it goes 90 m.p.h. when it used to say 79.5.

Doubt it, no reason to remove any track at all if they are just adding trims.

Good find. What's going on? This coaster, CHANGES, CHANGES! Best change so far - straps instead of karate-chopping OTSR.

Read the "notes" tab, the 79.5 MPH was a typo, it was intended to be 89.5

I was told it was clocking at almost 100mph on opening day.

That doesn't make much sense though. Who really knows; just like RCDB states about I305 speed ?????????There are clearly some shenanigans going on here...?????????.

EDIT: Anyway, back on topic, in response to Tetsu's post, SO IT'S TRUE! Part of the second hill is missing.

I don't think that near 100mph figure is physically possible. Someone did the math, and the highest speed without any kind of losses is 95 or so. I also think 79.5 was not at all a typo...with the trims it paced over the 150' hill at around the same speed as SROS SFA does over its first hill of similar height. SROS is listed at like 75, and it has less track before the hill on which to lose speed, so with the similar pacing over the top, one can assume they hit near the same speed.

I really am curious what they are doing with this.

There you go! Nice explanation; I wanted to explain something like this in similar vein but ended up confusing myself.

Here is the math using basic physics. We'll assume zero friction and zero air resistance. Equation used is (final velocity)^2 = (initial velocity)^2 + 2(a)([delta]y). We only need to calculate for the up-down direction where I will label it the y axis. I assume up is positive and down is negative.

[delta]y = 300ft = 91.46m
Initial velocity (in the y direction) = 0
Final velocity (in the y direction) = ?
a (acceleration) = -9.81m/s^2

Plug n' chug those numbers, and your final velocity is 42.36m/s, or 94.77mph. Obviously, the train has an initial speed in the horizontal direction, but it minimally adds to the final speed.

But you guys,
