Neil Peart has got to be the worlds greatest rock drummer. I love his fills in this song. Especially 2:35-2:46

Dale Crover (especially when playing with Coady Willis) and Brian Chippendale.

OK, he is good, but I think Eddie Van Halen could kick his ass anytime anywhere. Plus, some of the stuff he does is with effects pedals. I am a novice guitar player and can do some of the stuff he does with my line6 amp.

^yeah, his passing was sad, however; I much prefer Tommy lee in Motley crue, but he was awesome with Ozzy Osbourne.

^ I never considered him as a great rock drummer simply because he never really stood out from the rest of the band. Led Zeppelin was an amazing band; however they were not great individually. The songs are so well intertwined that if you remove one members instrumentation, the song loses feeling. Not to mention, jimmy Page and Robert Plant were the driving force behind the band.

ok, if that is your defense, here is my counter attack...Blink-182 summer tour 2009.

However, I do not consider showmanship; Musicianship is so much more important. besides, the lifting, rotating and inverting drum stages have all been done before. Show me a drummer who can keep time and rock a crowd and my rebuttle will always be Neil peart.

^umm...this is all based on personal opinion...not fact...how can anyone be wrong? Not one person on here called out another as being "wrong" this is just a fun thread for people to express opinions about something other than roller coasters and music. If one more person calls out another person for being "wrong" I will see that this thread gets locked and deleted!

^It's just my way to express my opinions. I like to open up my opinions with statement like that, cant explain why, I just do. It wasn't meant to start something.

-Danny Carey of Tool (innovative odd time signatures)
-Brann Dailor of Mastodon (jazzy, fill-heavy drumming)
-Tomas Haake of Meshuggah (perplexing polyrhythms)

The Rev of Avenged Sevenfold was pretty good before he passed. I wouldn't say he was the best, but he was good.

[worship] I was hoping SOMEONE would mention Keith Moon! XD

And The Rev was bad-ass, loved his style, similar to Tommy Lee, but all in his own as well.

R.I.P to both beasts of the drums!

edit - AND Buddy Rich! He was also INSANE!
"Don't be a disability"... yep, still keeping that. :P

I did not even want to throw Buddy Rich into the mix because he will destroy all on drums. He is a lot of fun to watch, though.
