They better not mess it up... Tremors looks awesome!
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

Making sure it stays that way for a long time instead of going the way of some other wooden designs that once could have been considered top 10, but are now less than stellar.

I'd prefer it got the GCI treatment like BDash did... This looks like defacement...

Pretty sure the GCI treatment needs more maintenance than this one will. Of course they did a good job, but I think the goal here is not just smoothing out the ride, but making sure it stays that way for a long time.

Sadly, I think we are witnessing the beginning of the end of the wooden roller coaster as we have known it. (You can quote me on that Amusement Today!)

I call coaster vandalism! and it is not funny. Leave the classics and top rated coasters alone. I sure as hell hope Cedar Fair doesn't try to do this to the Beast.

Is it me or do those bolts look like an instant derailment tool?

They're outside the area where the road wheels can physically touch even with any shuffling and such. Won't be a problem.

^ That's what they said with the old style to, and trains still hit them on occasion.

Now that I look at it, they might only be re-tracking areas of high stress on the track. I could be wrong though

What a bunch of whiny enthusiasts; the ride will still kickass, just face the fact that wood can not last a lifetime.

That's what it looks like. According to TPR's IAAPA coverage,
"Silverwood will be replacing 2,000 feet of roller coaster track."

This probably means both tremors and timber terror.

If the wheels hit the bolts, there are bigger problems.

Why not? it might allow them to take off the trims, in which case the ride might be greatly improved.

The project leader guy from RMC said the wheels won't hit the bolts.

Haven't you guys looked at the path the wheel wear down on the original track? It's half as wide as the spacing between bolts.

Use your goddamned eyes and THINK
"Careful man, there's a beverage here!"

Not even American engineers would be stupid enough to put the bolts in a position where there was a foul condition, certainly not a foul condition where one of the contact components was moving at 40mph with humans in it. Don't be so love ridiculous [lol]

Well, Ford and GM did go for a strategy to build cars that lasted 3-5 years so people would come back and buy more of them more frequently. The Japanese continued building cars that would last 20+ years and look what happened to Ford and GM. So you think the engineers aren't stupid to do things like that? Think again! [lol]
