A new wooden roller at Quassy Amusement Park has been under construction. The new coaster will travel 35mph through 1,200 feet of track with a height 35 feet and a drop of 45 feet. Wooden warrior will be equipped with the newest of wooden coaster trains; Timberlines, designed by The Gravity Group and built by Gravity Groups' sister company, GravityKraft. The Gravity Group of Cincinnati, Ohio, designed the family oriented coaster. Wooden Warrior will be built in house at Quassy. Many footings have been set and bents have gone up. Construction will continue through out fall and winter months.Four other ride manufactures were contacted to replace Mad Mouse(also known as Monster) at Quassy with a newer, fresher ride. Out of the five proposals, The Gravity groups seemed more interesting to the park.

The ride will cross over Quassy's train twice, still following the park's natural topography. The family ride will flow through a series of bunny hops and breathtaking turnarounds! the ride will not be a extreme experience but will be enjoyable for a larger group of ages. It will drop next to the Grand Carousel while it makes the turnaround through a tunnel and back over the train tracks.

Wooden Warrior is planned to open in 2011.

ftf, I can almost guarantee you it's not exported. The characteristics are completely different between this video and the others that have been exported...for example, the Voyage video. Pretty sure it was quickly made by hand.

Ummm....ok...the hell it isn't....explain yourself please.

Looks like I have another reason to want to make an east coast coaster trip next year. Quassy's new coaster looks like a lot of fun.

holy crap!!!! glad I wasn't the only one that noticed that.

T......6.5....lift was not straight, turns were too tight, hills were too oblique.

A.....7.5....looks like decent airtime and speed was pretty good, also close head-chopping supports.

O.....8...never seen a layout like this before, I like the close to the ground maneuvers and elevation changes. It's about time Quassy got a decent looking coaster.

Twisted! The lower track leaves the loading station before making its way up the incline, while the portion of framework shown above it will cross over not only the coaster, but also the park??????s train ride. (photo courtesy of Ron Gustafson / Quassy)

The wild and fun turnaround on the new ??????Wooden Warrior?????? roller coaster at Quassy Amusement Park in Middlebury, Conn., is shown during this phase of construction on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010. The turnaround will be enclosed in a tunnel when completed. The sharp banking as the coaster dives into the turn will add more thrills before the train emerges for another drop and makes its way back to the station! photo courtesy of Ron Gustafson / Quassy)

Wow, looks really intense actually for a kiddie ride. The tunnel looks really small too. It also looks very good in the snow. Thanks for the pics FTF!
