Merlin Annual pass to drop free parking on all standered annual passes, premium pass holders will still get free parking on all attractions but standered pass holders will now have to pay an extra ?????????5 at all attractions to park.

this was reported on facbook this afternoon after a eagle eyed member of the anual pass website noticed it was sneakily thrown into the terms and conditions.

as probally expected this has created an uproar of disspointment with a facebook group condeming it getting more than 120 people in the first hour signing up and it continues to grow

to add to this they have added more dates on which you cannot use your pass including in the new attractions in blackpool, alton towers, thorpe park, legoland and the dungeons.

They have too much of a monopoly on the parks in this country, so they can do as they wish and people will still visit.

Me and t'missus can't really afford to renew our passes next year anyway, with the new house and all, but we were still thinking that we would. This is the deciding factor for me, no more annual pass [V] I'll probably be able to go to even less meet-ups next year.

I commented on their facebook page as well, which seems to be getting absolutely raped at the moment.

there facebook page at the moment is a joke, i bet they didnt expect so much bad feeback at this

at the moment i will not be renewing and maybe even getting a drayton one instead as its alot cheaper and i can go round the zoo for half a day. last resort though

if its possiable i will get a premium pass but again is shouldent come to any of this because they have now lost all the pass holders respect.

because of the parking but more importanly for it just leaking like this and not bother to tell the public directally

merlin released this on facebook earlyier today :-

In response to enormous the backlash, following details of the exclusion of free parking to standard Pass Holders; Merlin have revealed the pricing structure for 2011 Annual Passes.

Hundreds of angry Pass holders have left comments on Merlin Annual Passes official Facebook page, prompting a response from Merlin, only a day after the new restrictions being revealed.
For those unaware, the restrictions for 2011 shall apply to those buying a new Annual Pass. Those who currently hold an Annual Pass are entitled to free parking until the expiry of their card. The Restrictions are as follows:

#9632;No entry to LEGOLAND Windsor before 2pm during August (open until 8pm)
#9632;No entry to the Blackpool Tower attractions from 22nd ????????? 30th October
#9632;Attraction parking fees aren?????????t included
Merlin seem keen on promoting the fact that none of these restrictions apply with a Premium Pass. However, many feel that a Premium Pass is pointless, as there hasn?????????t been the need to introduce one for many years.

Prices for 2011 Passes are:

#9632;Standard Pass: ?????????145 Individual and ?????????95 each for families of 3, 4 or 5.
#9632;Premium Pass: ?????????175 Individual and ?????????125 for families of 3, 4 or 5.
There is also the option of current Pass-Holders to upgrade; once their pass has expired, to a Premium Pass for ?????????145.

What are your thoughts? Is the premium pass worth paying the extra ?????????30? Or is this just a step too far for Merlin? Let us know!

basically its an excuse to rise the pass price by ?????????30 or so, yes ill be renewing to a premium as i do still feel its a good deal and ill be going to the blackpool attractions aswell as alot of others but the way it was leaked was pathetic and merlin should of known better
