The ride has changed names and serial numbers. This is a new credit.

I agree somewhat. I like to count my credits, but i don't understand when people count two sides of a racing coaster as separate tracks.

lol, that's not at all what I mean. To me it's like people make riding lots of coasters into an accomplishment, like it takes any skill other than money and time (and the nerve to look silly on kiddy rides). I ride coasters because I like them, not so I can tell someone I've ridden X number of coasters. Then there are all the dumb arguments about whether a ride is or is not a credit, whether a modified ride counts as a new credit, etc. Really though? lol...not to put you down, but the concept itself seems a bit sad to me.

Don't say this over at TPR, but when you bring how many coasters you've ridden in your life, and you say "Most" or "All" of them, people will ether look at you like your crazy, or ask if you want a love cookie.

I haven't ridden very many coasters, but do you know how far 35 years of riding for safety checks twice a day is? I know I got most of you beat in mileage. [lol]

I understand what your saying. I really just like to ride coasters to ride them. I do, however, like to count my credits. But, I agree with you in that it is a big fuss and a stupid competition. And btw, I only count my credits to brag to my non-coaster friends [:D]

Also, I don't mean to argue just to let you know.

Due to the major rework they are doing on the Texas Giant, I would consider it a new and different coaster also. So go ahead and increase you coaster count, if you dare ride this thing. LOL

No I know you're not arguing. I'm commenting on the concept, not your personal choice.

Taken from mu super secret ride database.

Ride Name, Serial Number, Certification Status, Reason, Transaction Date

"Texas Giant" (TX90), Revoked/Not Renewed, Demolished, Decommission Date - 1/11/2009
"The New Texas Giant" (TX10), Not Completed, Under Construction, Inspection/Certification Date - TBD

No matter how you slice it, its a new ride. RCDB needs to get off thier high horse and create a new page for this new ride.

I like counting credits so I can brag to non-coaster people as well. I count them and I have favorites, but in the end its really just all about riding new rides and enjoying the ones you have at your home park and learning to appreciate each one for what it is. In the end they are all coasters and that's what brings us together in the first place...I may tear up...*sniffle*

I'm not into the whole idea of counting "credits", I would genuinely have no idea how many different ones I have ridden if it wasn't for the fact that I used that "coaster tracker" App thing on facebook a little while back. I listed all the coasters I'd ridden and at the end it told me how many I'd ridden. But I don't remember what the number was. It wasn't a great deal, it was 80 something I think.

But... why would it matter how many different rollercoasters you've been on? The question is whether or not you enjoyed riding them, and I can't imagine enjoying sitting on a kiddie coaster, purely to get the credit for riding it!

I just want to point something out... Someone who sits on crappy coasters to get the credit...

Just for fun, I'd like to mention that at Great America, I asked Robb what his coaster count was. He responded "I don't keep a coaster count. I just do this for fun." [lol]

Let me get this straight... Did they still keep part of the original track, or did they just decide to redo the entire ride from top to bottom? I vaguely remember seeing that the MCBR's were going to remain the original trackwork, but the pictures seem to say otherwise...
So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.
