(CNN) -- A fire Saturday led to the evacuation and indefinite closing of a water flume ride at the Islands of Adventure park in Orlando, Florida, officials said.

The Orlando Fire Department got the call just after 5 p.m. and raced to the Universal Studios venue, Deputy Chief Greg Hoggatt said.

Dozens of patrons were at the Ripsaw Falls ride, but only a few were in the area where the smoke was noticed by an employee, Universal Studios spokesman Tom Schroder said. Staffers shut the ride down and got passengers out of the area.

A structure that houses part of the ride was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. They were able to knock it down in 30 minutes and contain it in 45 minutes, Hoggatt said.

The rest of the park was open Saturday evening, as investigators began looking into a cause, officials said.

Officials did not have a damage estimate and did not know when the ride, which is in the Toon Lagoon portion of the park, would reopen, Schroder said.

While some guests complained about smoke, no one was transported from the park for additional medical assistance, according to Schroder.

I hope there won't be too much damage to the ride. Since personally I really liked this Log Flume.

Personally I find it sad that the only reply on this is about how ftf could've posted it earlier than Dirk instead of about the fire.

Back on topic...wow considering the number of people there in the first picture I'm surprised nobody was hurt.

I know, I've never had the close chance to ride Dudley Do-right (OR WHATEVER) ripsaw falls, but I've always thought the drop to be awesome as hell.

That sucks! and how ironic is that? Water Flume Ride catches Fire! well at least they didn't have a shortage of water. The reason was probably due to lack of employment. Thanks BUSH!!!

Glad nobody was injured, since obviously the park was fairly crowded. I'm sort of surprised nobody was on the ride at the time, or was it closed prior for maintenance or whatever?

Well, nobody was on it, otherwise they would have been caught in the fire, yes? There were just a few in the area.

It is pretty fun, I have actually been on it before. But my friend who is going with me hasn't. I kind of talked up this ride as one to look forward to.

I really do hope it opens in a few days.
