I'll give it a shot again this year. I've got a bunch of half finished Eurofighters that I should be able to use ideas from.

Marcello, you're so fast, you couldn't make it so fast unless it's badly done. [:D]

What is your definition of realistic? my definition is if the element can be supported properly, and falls within the G Force parameters.

It really depens on the situation. If you think it's possible, without being lethal or too crazy, why wouldn't it be realistic?

So, are you saying that something can be too crazy even without being lethal? I have a huge library of ideas that are *crazy*, although very well possible, because I have tested them before, and they all fit within G force parameters. I'll PM you some written examples to show you what I mean by "Is this too crazy?" (I don't want other people to know.)

1) Is there a maximum height of the lift?
2) What about the outline way above the area? Do we need to do anything with this once we're done or is this just real high to keep it out of the way?
3) I notice in the Red Area there are some diagonal lines looking at it in the top view. Are these also boarder lines making up many sections of red or do we only need to pay attention to the main outline of the red boarder because the blue area has no diagonal lines so just wondering.

Sorry for the stupid questions but this will be my first contest and whats really funny is I still haven't ridden a real coaster LOL it's true.

Thanks in advance!

PS the rest of you peeps can go ahead and just hang it up cause I'm gonna win anyways! SAVE YOUR TIME hehehe

PS: My G Force parameters I place on myself are as follows:

5.5 vertical, (record in real life is 6.3 Tower of Terror @ Gold Reef City, Johannesburg, South Africa)

-1.6 airtime (IIRC, T-Express does -1.5, and Magnum XL-200 MUST do -2 or so during the bunny hops)

And as minimal lateral as possible, generally under +/-0.8 unless it's a wild mouse turn or a high lat wooden turn, which I try to keep at +/-2. (Boulder Dash does 2.4 lats, so again, it's intense, but not unheard of.)

Would these be acceptable?

If it's not mentioned in the original rules dont ask because clearly there is no height limit.

^^ I know, but I never build "just like the company" anymore. I build to my own style, but use the company's tracks as my medium. Gerstlauer is only the supplier for the track and trains, not the designer. So, in reality, the contest encourages us to design outside the parameters of how Gerstlauer builds their rides, but most people have this stigma of thinking that they "HAVE" to build just like the designers. You can make your creations individual as long as they are safe, you know.

PS: How do I open track package files in the editor?

Or maybe, as you get your kicks from your 'self design style', some people get their kicks from making creations that represent the methods and stylings of a certain designer but with new layouts.

Close-mindedness won't get you far.

^Not close-mindedness. I never thought of that, and you do have a point. It's just that the ratio of "just like the company" to "original" seems very lopsided to me, which led me to think that there's a stigma that you have to build just like the company. (Granted, I assume you would, given your username.) I do have methods to my madness. :P

ANYWAY... how do you open the track package in the editor? I don't know how to extract it manually.

^I feel you, some oppressors of the ideas of designing like you with personal methods do exist.

I'm starting to be very happy with my layout. Half-way done, ready to finish. I feel I'mma need to finish this within the next couple days to need at least 1.5 weeks to support hahaha.

You click on the track file in the nolimits folder. oh, does anybody here know the correct friction value for an eurofighter?

Where the hell are you getting those stats? Only your stat for "Tower of Terror" is anywhere near accurate.

Magnum is more like -1, maybe -1.2, and Boulder Dash does at most 1.5-1.7 lats. And don't forget that this is a Gerstlauer we're talking about, so lats that high + OTSR's = pain, unlike the PTC trains where lats are fun.

Haha, sorry.
From what I remember, for steel coasters it is 0.295 but I may be wrong.
