So, since I am going to SFMM sunday i just remembered to bring a sh*t load of single bills.... why? because the staff makes you empty out all your pockets and put them in a locker at the beginning of the line for a dollar (maybe they raised it...). Or, you could get a $20 all day locker and have to walk to the front of the park for something you need (SFMM is a huge park) :L I know six Flags is in debt for poor decisions, but they are still making bad financial decisions. Is this happening at other parks? (im sure it is...)

They are doing that crap in almost all of the Six Flags parks. It's just another way to force money out of the poor guests...

I'd refuse, and if they try to pat me down sue for sexual harassment.

Pretty sure security can override that.

At least at Great America, you never had to empty your pockets. It was only for loose articles.

Its only for loose articles at Great Adventure to. Same with SFNE when I was there.

It's park regulations. You refuse, you don't ride. Simple.
If you could sue for sexual harassment for a pat down, we would not have this whole TSA controversy.

No park official can pat you down without reasonable suspicion. The justice system doesn't go out the window simply because you enter a theme park. Some of you may say, "But, Sauron, theme parks are privately owned, so you can be searched because the rules apply for private residences." Not true. The park owner can pat you down, but he/she cannot declare by fiat that staff may do so. If you enter my home, I as the owner may search you and your belongings. However, my kids or other relatives may not search you because they don't own the house.

At any rate, the solution to securing loose articles is zipper-up cargo pants or shorts.

I consider loose articles to be items like cameras, hats, glasses, etc. NOT things that are placed in your pockets.
