At the No-Coaster Con this past weekend, Tom Rebbie from PTC apparently announced that they have been contracted by Holiday World to build new cars for The Voyage. Now, this little story has kind of grown a bit out of control it seems, as the story has evolved to the point that in some circles, they are saying PTC is building all new trains for Voyage.
I contacted Paula Werne, Holiday World ??????s PR Director, to shed some light on the issue at hand and what this means for the Gravity Group Timberliners. According to Paula, ??????Since the Timberliners are still in testing mode (testing resumes here next month) we wanted to be absolutely sure Voyage was ready to go--either way--on opening day. So we ordered 5 more cars (not trains). To quote a former US president, "must be prudent."??????
So there you go?????? five (5) new cars?????? not trains. Now you??????ve got to be wondering why just 5 cars. As Paula explained it to me, Voyage started out with three 7-car trains. As they were expecting to launch the new Timberliners last year, they managed to sell off two 6-car trains to another coaster, keeping one full train and having two cars leftover. So the addition of five more cars will give then two full 7-car trains once again.
