I am trying to finish my supports but now everytime I try to build them the game stalls and shuts down. What can be wrong?

oh no[:(] happened to me twice. Couldn't do anything about it, but i do have one tip that may help. Go into a different view and try. It sucks, but it usually works. I think the problem that you are getting is "This program has performed an illegal operation and will shut down" If its that then try what I just said, because that error will not go away with that same track. Although if you started a new track, then the thing wouldn't happen anymore. It still might happen, but only on certain coasters.

Well I have a problem again. I tried doing it and it keeps freezing and the only way I can do it is the 3d way.

the 3d way is the easiest for building supports IMO

And you can also try this:

Save the track as an element, then open the element(track) in a DIFFERENT NL track file

I havn't tried that, but it might just work. And don't delete the original track file, just in case.[;)]

darn, I had been working on a top secret wws track foer the past 3 weeks, no one knew about, and I just came accross this "error." Locked on adding supports, nothing complicated either, and the game crashed and stuff. Then tried to open my track and it says "could not load track"
[:(] That's three weeks of work down the chute.
WWS
My track was Hydro III just in case anyone is wondering what would take three weeks of raw track building [:(]

i think this should work, save the track file with a different name, but have the oreginal still. Then close the nl editor and open the different name file. I think it will work.

If that doesn't work, then don't select all of the track element, just as much as you can for it to be savable, and name each element like: coastername1, and so on intell you get to the end of the coaster. And wws, why don't you just uninstall the game, but keep the track, then re-install. That might work, but I don't know.

yes, build the supports in a different view, or save the track in a different file.

Has anyone tried updating video drivers? This sounds like the kind of thing a screwed up driver would cause. Or how about running the editor in software mode? I don't know how NL's editor runs, but I assume it uses OpenGL which some companies (ahem, ATI) don't run very well. This is just an idea.

I was building a coaster and all of a sudden my OpenGL closed and I lost everything. Happens quite often too. [}:)]

I have this tissue too, My suggestion is do the track part first. then save it, and begin on custome support building, save every 1 min or so, that way you don't have to do alot of works when the file is closed by error.

maybe we should ask development team about this?. what you think?

Is it even an error that the development team can fix? If so, yes. And I usually save my tracks after doing one tube, Then I save, then I do another tube, then I save, and etc. I don't know why I even do this but if I make my track real good, even if its just one little thing, I can't afford to lose it, because I can usually never make it as good as the original thing that It was.
