I'm a staunch anti-christian and anti-welfare person. If any legislation increases welfare or is beneficial to a christian organization, I'll do my damnedest to vote against it.
Also anyone under the age of like 20 doesn't have a political opinion, they just have a "mom and dad hates this so I automatically like it" or a "my dad yells about this all day and therefore I agree" opinion
Raising welfare benefits is a big no no, and just about everything the christians touch causes a gigantic amount of misery (opposition to stem cell research and gay marriage).
I mean church and state are separated, and a fantastic new burn treatment has come along from the stem cell research, among other things. All of these evil stem cells don't come from fetuses.
I also really don't see why churches don't get taxed, and why we have to funnel so much money into faith-based programs that are a continual catastrophic failure (See Africa and Haiti)
I don't like welfare increases because nobody bothers to check is LaShawnda is married or not and a common saying is that "just because the box is there doesn't mean you have to check it". I don't want to fuel some assholes Grey Goose habit. Welfare is a good idea on paper, but like communism, it cannot work outside of a 30 person tribe in a jungle or somewhere.
So i guess that makes me a democrat since I end up trying to veto the poop out of anything the republicans try to pass since they always insert religious poop into their bills, but I really do think they're better with money aside from the Bush trickle down economics that didn't really work.
I used to be a democrat, but honestly I'm to the point where I'm sick of both political parties, and declaring myself undecided. I voted Green Party in the last election. All I want is a politician that actually cares about the people he/she is serving rather than being a slave to all the lobbying and bipartisan bulls**t that screws everyone over for the sake of political gain. It sickens me.
Our congress just plain sucks. We finally got a president that actually wanted to do something worthwhile, and every single bill he tried to get passed got completely screwed up beyond recognition by the time it was voted on because of all the lobbying and corruption in Congress.
As a Christian, I have zero respect for anyone who abuses a position of power to take advantage of those in weaker states.
F**k politics. RCT 3 Crazy is correct. Everyone of them is in it for the money and power. And when you have that money and power, you forget the little people just like all the others. I love the actual landscape of this country, there are some real nice areas to live, but f**k this government. The credit system should have not ever been put into place. Just add up the ones who borrowed and didn't pay back and you'll see why we are in deep poop right now. Since the 1950s or 60s to current.
What is the average number of credit cards per person throughout the US?*
Totally agree with limiting/restricting welfare to those that actually need it. I've been down in the dirt, almost went homeless, everyone told me to get on welfare. I said hell no and found a job within a week.
Enough of my ranting and raving. Thanks for starting this topic though. Good to release aggression, especially without barraging fellow members directly.
American politics is even more love up than ours is. I take absolutely no interest in the government in this country, though, either. My position is apathy, as it is with most things.
Government in general these days isn't trusted, in any country (look at Egypt at this stage), the reason I take practically no interest at all is basically summerized by this: It matters not who wins in an election, because either way, we all lose.
