I rode it last year at Kings Dominion and loved every moment of it. It has no pain but instead, lots of airtime. The lift was very slow but was not boring. I loved the catwalks on the whole ride and the big helix of death. it was my first Japanese Jetcoaster TOGO coaster credit.

They are similar in style and elements, however, Shockwave has more of a side by side rectangle layout and King Cobra wrapped around itself in more of a single rectangle
I love shockwave. Really not rough at all, not nearly as much as your typical vekoma or arrow, and it was so poorly designed that it had airtime and lats. which is great.
I went on Sky Rider at CW back in 2008. It was my first Togo. I was climbing into the restraints, and going up the lift hill, awaiting a world of hurt that can only be synonymous with Hell itself. But, to my surprise, I thought it was awesome. Pretty much no headbanging, except for one moderate punch in the helix, (which didn't happen every time I rode it.) Actually, I loved it.
2010, I went on Shockwave at KD. Pretty much the same situation, but zero headbanging. I thought it was awesome, even if I was waiting forever on the brake run.
I loved King Cobra, that ride was awesome. It had all the great features of Shockwave (intense loop and helix, plus airtime on the hills) plus the trick track and I thought it gave a MUCH smoother ride. I was very crestfallen to see King Cobra go before Shockwave. I find Shockwave to be way too painful.
