Cats the stupidest mammal of their size, which is why they lack the ability to form a social structure like dogs. They're too stupid to make this possible. I know everyone's cat is "so special" compared to everyone else's (amazing how that works).

1. They lack the capacity to love because they're so astoundingly stupid for their size, and only snuggle with people when they want something like warmth or food. The big cats are much smarter at least.
2. They kill babies by sleeping on them.
3. There a serious problem with cats eating their owners very soon after their owners die. Most dogs will borderline starve to death before they start doing that, and some actually do starve to death.
4. They carry and spread the most diseases of any pet (they're worse than rats)

The only reason I'd like to be alive in the 1800's is to see a burlap sack full of cats bobbing down the river.

First, cats are BOSS, my male cat killed a mole and my female caught a mouse but didnt kill it, second, the second vid was from America's Funniest Home Videos.

I have a dog and 2 cats but I prefer dogs.

When I read your post, I assumed you were trolling because I doubted that anything so stupid could actually be real. However, I stand corrected, and shall now address your post in full.

1. Stupidest animal for their size? Umm... there is a lot of debate (read: flame wars) over whether cats are smarter than dogs, but it is definitely not under debate that they are very intelligent. At least some cats are able to invent and use tools without human intervention. However, one of my family's dogs has independently come up with a systematic method of removing treats from a toy.

2. This is an old wives tale, debunked by http://www.snopes.com/critters/wild/catsuck.asp Note that parents also kill babies by rolling over on them.

3. All the good sources, such as Snopes, that I have found say that both dogs and cats will eat dead owners in the event of starvation. Also note that cats are obligate carnivores, and cannot survive as long without meat as dogs can.

4. From cdc.gov, the Center for Disease Control: the articles on cats and dogs contain lists of diseases carried by each. Here are the disease carried by cats, but not dogs: Cat scratch disease, Plague, and Toxoplasma. Here are the diseases carried by dogs, but not cats: brucellosis, giardiasis, leishmaniasis, lyme disease, and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Note that at the very least, they are about equal.

My paleontology teacher put up a slide on the overhead when we were on the small mammals unit outlining several peer reviewed journal articles show just how dumb cats are relative to other mammals their size. They've been proven to be astoundingly stupid. They're not "loners" because it's a "trait", it's because they're literally too stupid to form a social structure or bond. I wasn't talking about a cats vs dog owner debate, I'm talking published research. Dogs, raccoons, ferrets, possums, beavers, all mammals roughly the same size as a house cat are significantly more intelligent than cats. This doesn't apply to "big cats" like lions, cougars, etc.

This particular professor has a hatred of cats I have never seen before due to his wife's purchase of one, he has PLENTY of information on how dumb they're.

It's not number of diseases, it's the frequency of transmission. The litter box is the main culprit of this because they carry around poop particles on their leg that they lick when cleaning themselves, and then it's in their mouth, and then they lick you, rub up against you, etc and it's just awful.

First of all, you just said that the professor had a hatred of cats you had never seen before. Is it by any change possible that he wasn't completely objective?

I also found articles about cats failing the string test. However, either spaces can be found to outperform the other in many areas.
