You should get your uncle on the podcast to talk about Texas Giant. Lol

Haha, i was thinking the same.

But you know, I have an uncle that works for the company and he said that there actually is no air time at all... only the illusion of air time. Its quite impressive the technology they plan to use on this attraction in order to achieve this "illusion." But Im not supposed to say anything because they dont want people to know that there is no real air time.

Who would you rather believe... Jake's supposed IAAPA conversation or my uncle?

Coolbeans > Jackizle

Supposed conversation? We interviewed Rocky Mountain on camera but obviously there were side conversations that didn't make it on film. Look, i'm trying to show support for this project as what they are doing could be revolutionary in the "coaster world." Your comments add absolutely nothing except being another example of immaturity on this site, which is surprising coming from some one as old as yourself that's been around for so long (relatively, of course).

How can there be no airtime? At any degree of a slope you are getting airtime, whether you can feel it or not.

Jcoasters, wtf are you talking about? Airtime at any slope? What???

Jayman, if the wooden coaster becomes more rare, it may get more popular for the simple fact that not as many parks have nice new ones. That would make it an original investment. Also consider that wooden coasters are a lot cheaper. I wouldn't worry too much.

And coolbeans, I'm pretty sure what you said is a lie, unless you mean riders will be strapped in tight so they won't really be out of their seat. If you mean there are no forces less than or equal to 0G, then I'll have to say you're wrong. Fairly certain it's physically impossible for the back car to not go lower than 0G on the first drop alone, so there's your proof.

I talking about how, if you are on a perfectly flat piece of track (which is impossible due to the earth being rounded and nothing is technically flat to the ground) you would have 1 G. If this piece of track were at a 90 degree angle, you would have 0G if you were not moving. If this piece of track was then at -0.000009 degrees, you would not have 1 G, but less then that by a minuscule amount so tiny the body could not feel it.

Silt sediment deposited by pelagic rain over a small area (like 100ft) can be perfectly flat if they're deposited below storm wave base and away from everything "interesting" slike continental shelves, slopes, volcanoes, etc. You can also have evaporites from old lakes in the desert that are pretty damned close, and a whole lot more. Wrong again.

no, there is no such thing as flat theoretically. It is impossible. And 0G and zero gravity are the same thing, I know that. No need to be a douche and correct me on a right answer

By your logic anyone who is lying down is weightless since they are facing 90 degrees upwards. If this is so, I would love to see you try and market a bed as a "zero gravity device"
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

Prove it. A small stagnant body of water with NO outside forces acting upon it like wind, waves, etc is perfectly flat. Additionally, the below substance, muscovite, will cleavek its van der vaal bonds down to the molecular level, so some where on that mineral is a perfectly flat surface.

ok, you're saying 90 degrees = weightlessness, when weight = gravity acceleration, there for when gravity changes (like on a rollercoaster hill ect.) your weight changes. if your at a 90 degree angle no gravity has been accelerated, nor at -0.000009 degree. for your weight (or gz) to change you would have to resist gravity like jumping, or falling. hope this clears some things up...

since the earth is curved, when i am standing on the earth i am always on a slope. you are always on a slope at any point in time. Lets say im on a piece of steel on ground that is perfectly aligned with the earth. it is bent because when the steel was made in the factory, the factory was on the earth which is rounded, so the factory was rounded, even though rounded so small no human machine or eye could tell. So then, the steel would come out slightly bent.

no because they have something to rest on. im talking about if kingda ka stopped in the middle of its dive, you would have about 0 Gs

Lol this is really, really entertaining. Jcoasters, your statement about "airtime on any slope" is so wrong its not even funny. In fact, the truth is the opposite, and for the same reasons you used to "prove" your statement. Airtime is less than 0 G, and thus if you're on a straight piece of track sloped between 0 and 90 degrees, you will never experience airtime. Hence why roller coasters have curved track. CKMWM, a body of water on earth (or any planet for that matter) will appear flat, but it's actually slightly spherical. You should know that. That's what (I think) jcoasters was talking about. Your bit about the mineral is probably true as well, but I honestly don't know enough about that to say anything.

^I meant since noting is straight, a slope with a degree with 0.1x10^-1000 would have slightly less then 1G. so there is always "airtime". And when i say airtime, I'm not talking about coasters, I'm just talking about forces under 1G in general.

What if you're on a deep ocean siltstone? Then you're on a flat surface. You don't seem to understand settling processes at all, then again your grasp of gravity is pretty terrible.

So if I build something on a triangle it will be triangular by default?

Jcoasters, what if you built something straight up? that would be unaffected by the earth's curvature and be straight. Not saying that you couldn't build something straight horizontally, just pointing out that you haven't even begun to think through the argument you are making.

you are not understanding me.

With the sediment thing:

the earth is curved! so gravity is not straight, it is curved! there fore it settles curved due to the gravity of the earth following the earth which is curved!

Steel thing:

The factory and machines are slightly bent since gravity is curved with the earth, so the steel will come out slightly bent.

geese, how can you people not understand this? its as easy as cake!
