Im making tree textures for my environment with photoshop and ive done all the alpha layers and stuff that they say you need to make them transparent but they turn out like this.

Can anyone tell me how to make it transparent?

tga with an alpha channel of black in the area that shows up as white and white where the tree is like its supposed to be. And when i save the image and load it again in PS the parts that used to be transparent are white there too as well as in the editor.

you have to make the alpha channel invisible, not black, there is a difference.

An alpha channel is not black or white it just basically tells the image to be transparent or not with the colors black and wwhite.

your words, not mine

if you have it in two different layers, then that's the problem, it exports as one layer, merging the two together. all that is needed is the actual image, with a transparent background, nothing else

i'd also suggest using gimp in the future, mostly because its basically the latest version of photoshop for free, plus its super easy to use, so
