Yet the Orlando/Tampa area has one of the highest concentrations of 'really good coasters'

Yeah it's a tourist trap. Wisconsin Dells has the highest waterpark concentration and it's a white trash shithole.

I'd give up roller coasters and a testicle forever to live in Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada or to live in Glacier National Park

^^^About a month ago a friend of mine who lives up there told me otherwise...maybe I was a little exaggerated, but gas prices are volatile now anyways. And at least you're not getting off-topic.

edit- What happened to $3.75? [:D]

^ Yea, and since its almost Hurricane season you can watch that number skyrocket.

I live in Pennsy. About 2 hours south of NYC and about 1.5 north of Philly (traffic permitting.).

Gas here was $3.59 in PA and $3.30 in NJ so since I live on the PA/NJ state line, i go to NJ for gas, and thats about all I go to NJ for. lol

How the hell do you get to Dorney in 4 hours from Ohio?!? It took me about 6 hours to go from my place to the PA/OHIO line.

Those were rough (apparently very rough) estimates... [:p]

Ventura County California. I'm about a 45 minute drive from Magic Mountain with no traffic and an hour with traffic. I'm about 1.5 hours from Knott's and 2 hours from Disneyland. 3 Hours from Castle Park and Scandia.

New Concord, OH.

Most everyone my age I know here is bored to tears because there's really nothing to do here except movies or bowling, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love it here. The people are nice, it's a great lush farming country with beautiful rolling hills, and it's downright lovely in the fall and the spring. (Side note: my favorite weather is low-mid 60's and mostly cloudy...)

The only bad part is that I'm basically in an amusement park dead zone, surrounded by them on all sides but none remotely close to me. It's a 3-hour drive to Cedar Point and King's Island, and 2 hours to Kennywood.

I used to live in Tampa, but honestly the amusement parks are the only part about it that I genuinely liked. I was within walking distance of Busch Gardens. But IMO, it wasn't worth putting up with the relentless heat, the a**holes that live there, the insane drivers, and the city in general. Having grown up right here in Cambridge, OH, I never felt like I belonged down there. It's good to be home now.

Orlando, Florida half the year and San Antonio, TX the other half of the year.

Yes, that means I live close to both Texas Giant and Cheetah Hunt :P

I equally love both places...becoming more and more fond of Orlando though :)

I'd say it ceases to be the midwest once you're an hour east of the Rockies and it definitely isn't the midwest west of the Rockies.

I always thought of the midwest as the incredible flat boringness of the continent, and a good portion of Colorado is an extension of Nebraska.

They really need to divide Nebraska into two states and extend the western half of said state into Colorado so you at least have two places to direct your extreme hatred while driving on.

Favorite quote from one of my friends while being forced to drive through Nebraska:
"I got bored flying over Nebraska". Thank you Colin.

I'd also support officially renaming Nebraska "love Nebraska". I believe the corners of the state has some interesting things going on but driving through it was 7 hours of awful. Iowa is quite hilly compared to Nebraska and Nebraska has the same flatness as Illinois, but I consider it worse than Illinois because Illinois is greener since the whole state isn't half dead crops limping along.

Anyways here is my "Great List Of Beautiful States"
1. Nevada
2. Wyoming
3. Montana
4. Utah
5. Colorado

Oregon, Washington, and California will probably appear on that list. It's a shame more people aren't from them. If you hate the desert remove Nevada and Utah and it still works.

Montana and Wyoming are a tie, and I'm doing everything I can to get my advisor to take me to see some marine glaciers in Alaska however I don't really think that is going to happen.
