Colorado. Is that Midwest (which it shouldn't be) or other?
I'd say it ceases to be the midwest once you're an hour east of the Rockies and it definitely isn't the midwest west of the Rockies.
I always thought of the midwest as the incredible flat boringness of the continent, and a good portion of Colorado is an extension of Nebraska.
They really need to divide Nebraska into two states and extend the western half of said state into Colorado so you at least have two places to direct your extreme hatred while driving on.
Favorite quote from one of my friends while being forced to drive through Nebraska:
"I got bored flying over Nebraska". Thank you Colin.
I'd also support officially renaming Nebraska "love Nebraska". I believe the corners of the state has some interesting things going on but driving through it was 7 hours of awful. Iowa is quite hilly compared to Nebraska and Nebraska has the same flatness as Illinois, but I consider it worse than Illinois because Illinois is greener since the whole state isn't half dead crops limping along.
Anyways here is my "Great List Of Beautiful States"
1. Nevada
2. Wyoming
3. Montana
4. Utah
5. Colorado
Oregon, Washington, and California will probably appear on that list. It's a shame more people aren't from them. If you hate the desert remove Nevada and Utah and it still works.
Montana and Wyoming are a tie, and I'm doing everything I can to get my advisor to take me to see some marine glaciers in Alaska however I don't really think that is going to happen.
