HOLY CRAP!!!! that looks so effing awesome. Great ejector, and the effects in the first 2 tunnels look sweet, and, the trains look really cool too. The only thing I did not like, the clacking sound the whole ride.

Amazing what a little steel can do right?! Just as I expected on airtime though. Looks fantastic.

This ride doesn't subscribe to labels. It does whatever it wants with reckless abandon.

Well I rode it. Once. Hugest line. It was an awesom ride tho i must say. Not a number one coaster, but up there in the top 5. Great airtime. The drop in the back was just INSANE. As good as el toro. (i only rode in the back) The hill after the first drop was as good as rolling thunder hill, same with the hill right next to it. The three overbanks were each very different. The first had a lot of lats, the second had lats and airtime and was my favorite. It kinda transitioned from a lateral force to semi ejector on the way down. The third overbank was cool because it was enclosed but was useless forcewise, but the hill right after makes up for it. The drop off the midbreak was somewhat disappointing but i mean if it was on a crappier ride like a B&M it would have been very fun, the hill after had light ejector, then the hill diving through the structure after had nice ejector, the sideways hill was very light ejector maybe floater, a nice forceful low turn after, then you go up into a floater hill, and surpisingly ejector on the transition hill right after, then the rest of the way back kept its speed and pace with some good light ejector on the hills and some light lats, even the last hills and going into the brakes had airtime. It would have been better if the end had just as good pacing as the beginning, but then again it was the first day of the ride running.

The trains were great, it was NOT the same restraints as the Gerstlauer spinners, they had a flat bottom and had more surface area along your thighs, and they left ALOT of room for airtime even if they were tight, compared to the spinners they were a bit more comfortable and made for airtime imo.

The ride was interesting in that it felt steel but it was still not TOO smooth. It might have been the seams or something. You could NOT hear the train going over the seams between the tracks probably because of all the screaming that went over top of it. Overall I wish i had gotten another chance to ride.

I also rode all of their other coasters, and was pleasantly surprised by titan. It was raw power the whole ride, and it had alot of good lats in random places where it was WANTED during the ride, like at the top of the first turn, and coming out of the helix, and the last turn before the breaks, and a bit on the overbanks. The restraints were AWESOME because they physically didnt allow you to be stapled. That one airtime hill makes up for the lack of airtime in the ride because it had ejector where your butt did not touch the seat for like 4 seconds. Plus the first drop had good air in the back because of the way it was shaped, and the helixes were intense in in VERY good way. Great ride. I also enjoyed Mr. Freeze because im a fan of launched coasters. The launch kinda sucked, but the tophat had airtime on the transition in, hangtime on the top, then airtime on the way out. The forces were out of controll coming out of the tower. Your just floating for so long and then you just hit the bottom full force and it really catches your off guard and makes the weightlessness all the more effective.

Other notes-
-Shock wave and JRS were both closed[:(!]
-Batman reminded me how amazing that model is
-I reached my 100 coaster mark finally [:I]
-Superman was the worst combo tower EVAR
-park was pretty nice
-Great guest relations office (incredible compared to sfne)
-why are there two log flumes with the same name right next to each other?
-Flash pass only let me ride NTG once and i was veryy pissed
-Most crowded day at a park i have ever seen

Counts

NTG- 1
Titan-3
Mr. Freeze- 6
Batman- 3
La Vibora- 1
Mini Mine Train- 1

Didnt ride anything else

^great review of your day. I am glad you were honest about your review of the New Texas Giant and didn't just give us a brain washed review about it. I think it looks absolutely ridiculous, but yes, the pacing at the end may break it as a number 1 choice for me. I've been on Mr. Freeze at SFStls and the overbank going backwards is just ridiculous. The forces are really unsuspecting and feel so cool.

Nice review. I rode it and it was great. The part that IMHO was different was the fact for years and riding the original dozens upon dozens of times was the loss of the wood feel. I missed that rickity squeaky bumpy track.I rode the original on opening day and was one of the first 100 people to ride it. Not this time.
I know one of the maint. people out there and he was saying it will be tweaked as time goes by.
But a great new expansion to six flags.

Yeah it would have been much better if it felt more like el toro or had metal wheels atleast to add more texture to the ride. Forces i have found do not feel nearly as fun or intense unless the texture roughens a bit where they are. Like on titan, the helixes were amazing because it had such a violent feel to it when it had high forces, not a perfectly smooth glass feel. I feel like new texas giant will get better as it ages though. And as for the lack of brainwash in my review, i was kinda let down because people were calling it the best coaster in the world, but just because a coaster has alot of airtime doesn't mean its the best coaster in the world. That is the way it has become nowadays. I like intense forces, out of controll feeling, airtime, and fast pacing, and most of all a good launch (but most coasters suck after the launch except for a few like storm runner). Texas Giant delivered a ride with intensity, fast pace, insane air, and out of controll at the begining, but faded after the mid brake. It didnt leave you at the end saying OMG INSANE. It left you that way at the mid brake. So therefore it was good but not incredible. Same with el toro imo. It starts amazing, and ends still amazing, but less good than the beginning. Bouder dash on the other hand has the same speed and pacing at the end as the beginning, and so does storm runner. That is what makes the difference between an AMAZING ride, and an up there almost amazing ride. Ya know?

You do realize El Toro was as smooth or smoother than Nitro when it opened, right?

Other than that I agree from what I see. Looks much better in the first half than the second. A great ride, but not one of the best in the world to me. I'll stick to considering rides like Bizarro and Intimidator 305 being the best steel coasters for me in the world, though I've yet to check out Intimidator 305 myself. Soon enough...

I bet the back seat air-time on the first drop is amazing.

Yeah its just as good as el toro back seat first drop air, just without the speed going into it and the lats just before the airtime. So yeah its amazing! And Jake you were right about that one airtime hill before the midbrake, it is incredible, and so is the one after the first drop.

Yup, those 3 moments of airtime are incredible. Just look at the reverse POV, you can see how much my fat ass gets lifted up.

I finally redid my top 10, and this is easily top 5 for me, somewhere between Maverick and SoGo.
