Think it's something to do with Wolverhampton, a football team in the UK.

I personally don't follow football an thought it was some racist song but i think its do with the granite landscape up north?

They're still dangerously close to relegation, there's nothing to celebrate.

^ We beat The poop from down the road, their fans can piss off to Birmingham, the Black Country's ours. Local bragging rights are always reason to be celebrated. Although, it will be a slightly hollow victory if we still end up being relegated, but it's in our hands now!

I know no one else gives a crap, but rubbing The poop's faces in it is what it's all about. Gaz, there's no videos from yesterday online yet, but as a substitute; here's O'hara's goal against The poop at their place from earlier in the season [:)]

[lol] not quite.

The Black Country is an area of the West Midlands, so called because of it's prominance in the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution began in Telford (a town near the West Midlands conurbation) and then took hold in the industrial powerhouse that was the West Midlands, before spreading around the world. The area was full of factories, with chimnies pumping out black smoke/pollution and so it became known as "The Black Country".

Most of that industry has gone now of course, leaving one city (Wolverhampton), three towns (West Bromwich, Dudley and Walsall) and suburbs of each. The main two Black Country football teams are Wolves (my team) and West Brom (The poop) (Gazag's team). They're 11 miles apart and it has been recently voted the fiercest football rivalry in England... to win against the other team is somewhat important to us [lol]

Anyway, life story over (as if you cared lol, I just like talking)

and finally; just for you Gaz, my inital sentiment in audio form:

There is no hooliganism! Just pride. Well, that and pure hatred.

To add to your history/cultural lesson, isn't there more miles of canals in Birmingham than Venice?

There is indeed, but there's less poop and shopping trolleys in Venice's canals [lol]

Birmingham isn't in the Black Country though, so that was rather random... but then again, I guess this entire thread is pretty random for 99.9% of people on the site [lol] so what the hey!

Haha, I know it isn;t the Black Country but is a mere manly stones throw and does relate to industry within the Midlands [;)] as a whole.

I am surprised at TheArchitect's thoughts but he did say up North so is blinkered lol.

I will say I would never relate yourself with random threads/posts and understand your initial concerns [:D]
