Diesel is overrated. I drive a 3.6litre Turbo Diesel van at work, and it is a beast. Seriously, a beast. But it's not as fuel efficient as you might think, given the cost difference in the fuel type. AND, all of the power comes in huge bulges, rather than smoothly increasing, based on how much pressure you apply on the pedal.

I understand that my van has a 3.6litre turbo engine, but still, the averagves less than 20mpg, which is poor to say the least.

Compared to my car which is petrol (which again I understand is only a 1.3litre, so huge engine size difference), averages about 60mpg, but will do 70mpg if I'm not being a dick.

Also, diesel engines sound like absolute poop [lol]

This is my current truck.

Image

Its a 98 Ford Explorer XL(S) which is the base line model. She has about 130K on her which is low and gets about 15 City/ 19 HWY.

Later this year though Ill be getting my grandparents old truck which is a 02 Chevy Trailblazer LT (Mid-line model). I dont have a picture of it but this is a stock photo of what it looks like.

Image

ITs also a V6 and gets about 17 City/ 21 HWY. Not great but with gas going down, its not as bad.

@ Gouldy...

I only get 28MPG with my Mazda with a 2L 16V so your van is VERY efficient compared to that.

My mates lass had a KA and he loved it for city driving and said it was quite alot of fun for what it was. 70MPG is something not to be snubbed at either.

^It's a nice drive, don't get me wrong, I love how it drives. It's just that you do look a bit of a vagina when you're driving it around [lol]

All European Fords drive beautifully, drove a focus RS a little while back and nearly came. With that in mind; currently looking for a second car and looking for a 6 month - 1 year old current generation Ford Fiesta 3door:

Image

Found a couple for the right kind of price, but can't find a 6 month old 3door Zetec in white for the price I want to pay right now.

^ I had one of the desiel models on hire about a year ago for 3 weeks and it was a great car. It wasn't as high spec lokking as the one you just posted and was a 5dr model, but it was a nice little car for just me n my m8 for travelling to jobs and fuelwise it seemed to use nothing even though it was getting hammerred about.

Freddie - post your car - or shut the fxxx up.
It's not about boasting, i just like seeing people's choices when it comes to buying cars. I thought people like you would die out after nearly six years of being on this site, but nope.

Thanks for the replies chaps, some of them trucks are seriously HUGE [lol]. I want one to chuck my surfboards in but dont think i could afford the petrol.

Implying I would be driving a love Ka if I could actually "choose" the car I wanted to buy [lol]

If I could literally choose, it would probably still be a Ford, but definitely not a Ka. Focus RS500, white body, black everything else (Or just mat black everything). Either that or an Evo VIII MR or X MR, in the same colour scheme.

Yesss RS500! Insane. I love white cars too, but that lime green colour with the matte black looks awesome too.
Uncle has an ST and thats awesome enough.

Right now I would really take anything. I am eligible for my license right now, but unlike a license a means of transportation that incorporates a motor does not appear to be likely in the near future, thanks to my semi-protective parents. :P

I decided not to buy so I can wait for the Second generation i7 extreme processors to come out in January.

And also, I am not a spoiled brat. I would of bought the card with my own money in my savings account.

You know, there is this great place you can go to after high school, but, it is pretty expensive, on the other hand, usually worth every penny, seems to me that is what you should be saving up for Jcoasters.

You can stop lying about stuff you're 'going' to get and actually get something for once.

I was going to get it. But then I found out that The second generation i7 extremes are going to come out, so I decided to cancel my order and get a refund.
