I like what they're doing with the theming. I remember being so impressed by SROS SFNE's station, with the giant Superman figure on it, and I think this one looks pretty cool too. I'm also glad not all the theming is two dimensional, and I think reusing the jet was a good idea as it seems to fit right in. Hopefully the landscaping looks better than it did when they were spreading what appeared to be asphalt under the ride.

I look forward to riding soon!

Ok so today i attended media day, sorry i dont have photos, but heres a little review of the ride. I enjoyed it and think its a great addition to the park

Got there around 930, event was supposed to start at 10, but the ceremony didnt start until about 10:20, it was a short and sweet one, only about 10 min. Then ribbons shot out and guest recited the green lantern oath, and its time to ride! Me and my friend ended up being one of the first few people, and ended up getting on the first train out, 2nd row.

All clear was heard, and out to climb the lift we went. Once we reached the top, it was just all fun and force from there.

The drop in the front of the train is good, but in the back you get whipped over and actually catch a little airtime. Then into the loop, for some reason at the bottom of the drop/into the loop there was a strong G spot and into the loop you went, nice element, then diveloop, then the turn around which had some forced to it, then into the inclined loop, i dont know how i feel about this element, it was weird and kind of disorienting but some rides it was just meh. Then the little s-turn to the turn into the breaks which was forceful and had a little air.

From the MCBR it does not let up, down into the first cork you go and have a little pop of hair, and the whole 2nd half is fast, forceful and fun.

Little side notes:
-No sound is on the lift or break run[or at least not yet?]
-Queue has a couple story boards about the ride but i didnt read them.
-Not sure how they plan on using 3 trains, with 2 trains and alot of empty seats on most cycles, they still took a -long time to dispatch, they check the retrains and tell you to put your feet back, then after they check the restrains, they "check feet"
-No onride camera yet, they still have to set it up
-Speaker/mic in station wasnt working, they were using a megaphone

Overall i enjoyed the ride and did it about 6 times before i left the ride and went around the park for others.

Edit- forgot to add, This ride really takes a toll on your legs your first time. MY first ride, by the time the MCBR came around i just wanted to lean down and sit on the little bicycle seat, my legs were getting weak and had all the blood rush to them, but once a few rides after i got more adjusted to it.

Yeah my one ride on Mantis left my calf cramped for the rest of the day. I was rubbing it while on Dragster front row later that day lol. You really have to find a good balance between weight on your seat and on your feet. I look forward to it though, but I don't expect to ride it more than once or twice in a row.

I was fine on Iron Wolf though, and while it's not as long I'm sure the forces are similar. I also think it's because I was expecting the forces and knew where to put my seat. Hopefully Green Lantern is better for me for that reason.

^Haha, yes, it is a "balance of feet and seat". Too much "feet" and you get sore (I haven't really been too sore, but I have larger calfs for someone that doesn't work them out), and too much "seat" and well...your future family takes a punch.

Yeah like I said I was fine on Iron Wolf after several rides, but I got owned by Mantis, which was my first legit standup. Despite my height I'm light, so I can imagine what it's like for heavier guys whose seat is too low. I'm carrying say 600 lbs at high force areas whereas some other guys might be carrying up to 1000 or so.

Pansies. I dont use any seat at all and I get off Mantis without any leg issues. Sometimes I stretch before...but hey, its better than risking the jewels.

Its that or because my head is beat up so bad that I dont feel my legs. Ill have to see about that this year, I heard Mantis is running very well (But, still, one train op.)

You probably don't know how to ride a standup coaster properly or got locked in at the wrong height. I'm not light and I rode Mantis just fine without any problems, no pain, all fun.

I have no problems on Mantis or Riddler's.

Also, it's funny that (arguably) the top coaster at Kentucky Kingdom is now just a normal coaster among the line-up at SFGAdv. That's what it seems like with these mega-parks. These amazing coasters are under-appreciated. Same goes for Scream at SFMM. If these awesome coasters were at any other smaller parks, they would get a lot more attention. Like if a park like Canobie Lake had Green Lantern, it would be a huge deal, but at SFGAdv, GL just falls into place.

Sorry for that. It was just a though I had.

Yeah seriously I don't get how any of you guys have such huge problems. Perhaps you guys need to get out more and actually use your legs?

I have never had a problem on Shockwave at Drayton. It may have a slighty different set up I am unsure about this, but the principals of standing are no different.

I only had a problem on the one Mantis ride, and as I said that was my first ride on a legit standup coaster. At that time I had only been on Shockwave KD twice, and even that was 5 years earlier. I think I just had too much space between my body and the seat. It also happened after a full day and a half of walking around parks. It's not a physical fitness thing ck...at that time I was a highschool pitcher and now I pitch for a semi pro team so my legs are fine. And gazag...since you're so quick to call names, you need to go take a look in the mirror. I rest my case.

You wasn't the only person to complain about this ride type and Gazag never mentioned yourself by name dcs.

While you have every right to defend the reasons why you had the feelings you had on a ride, it is below the belt to get personal in that way about someones appearance wether you rest your case or not.

No kidding! I was at SFMM less than a year after Scream! opened and it had the shortest line in the park. My brother and I got right on all 3 times we rode it. Also, I have never had a problem on Riddler, except for the embarrassment caused by baggy jeans. I can see Mantis and Green lantern being a little painful due to the fact that they have a straight drop versus the curved drop found on most stand-up coasters.

There were two of us who said it, my posts on the subject were most recent, and "you" by itself (as opposed to, for example, you two or you all) is speaking to one person. Did he really have to say a name to make it clear to whom he was speaking?
