Among the general public, I would have to say Superman: Ultimate Flight. Piece of poop ride.

Among coaster enthusiasts, the Raven. It's a fun coaster, but it's not as good as people make it sound.

General Public: Top Thrill Dragster/Kingda Ka - Not gonna lie they're fantastic rides, and I love them, but do I think they deserve as much cred as they get? Not really.

Coaster Enthusiasts: Not largely talked about, but I was never a huge fan of Diamondback. Sure its a decent ride, but not to the extent it was hyped, in my opinion, either.

GP: Desperado at Buffalo Bills, primm NV. Not a bad idea, but, it's an Arrow hyper, very shaky and bumpy. My favorite hyper is Apollo's Chariot at BGE. Apollo's Chariot has it all, airtime, speed, height and awesome floater on the turn-around that is just too epic for words, not to mention the small stengel dive over Roman Rapids before the las 2 bunny-hops. if it wasn't for the nutcracker finale in the brake-run, this would be my #1 pick.

CE: Batman clones, they are fun rides, but, the inversions and elements go by so quick, there is barely time to enjoy and appreciate the fact that this ride was cloned from the world's first suspended coaster that went upside-down. Not to mention the fact that the line is always way too long. I prefer Flight Deck (formerly Top Gun) at CGA, great ride, awesome pacing and the flat spin over the lake provides an experience that cannot be found anywhere else.

same. Mine is probably Maverick though. I like it, it was fun, but it felt like a kids ride.

GP) Goliath at SFMM. Really a waste of space IMO. The only entertaining parts are the first drop and floater hill. The rest is pretty boring to me.

Enthusiasts) Kraken. It's just5 another B&M Floor-less with the same General layout.

Kids ride? Are you kidding me? Beyond vertical drop? 70 mph launch? AND Maverick is very intense and fast, you're not going to find many roller coasters with faster transitions and pacing. Some people may not like Maverick, mainly because it's too intense or they don't like the OTSR's, but never because it feels like a kids ride.

Lightning Racer is the most overrated ride in history. I cannot believe something like that can do so much of absolutely nothing. I'd rather ride American Eagle than that piece of poop.

To put this in perspective, I'd ride Mean Streak over American Eagle.

GP: Blue tornado. Yeah, people actually rave about a SLC, and that's not all...
people say it's actually BETTER than KATUN...

GP) Definately TTD. It's too simple.

CE) Diamondback. It just doesn't feel very fast or very tall once you're actually on it (IMO).

That would be a pretty big poop.

I'm up for the challenge.

GP: TTD, it's not long enough and is too simple, and Spacemountain at Disneyland, it's a piece of poop yet I know people who would rather tide it than ride X2.

CE: probably has to go to MF, it's a forceless piece of poop and has almost nothing good except 3 moments of airtime while a mega-lite 1/3 it's size is much better.

Probably Alpengeist @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Largest inverted coaster ever. Massive inversions. Woohoo. Doesn't give THAT much of a kick. It's alright though.

I agree... Alpengeist was very lame to me... If people think trims on Montu is bad, then Alpengeist is a complete buzzkill.

I'd say the most overrated coaster among the GP is the one that happens to be at their home park lol...I can't really say there's one coaster out that that's overwhelmingly overrated among the GP. I can't say I know a single person who isn't an enthusiast who will say that a coaster at a park other than the one they go to is good. Really. It's true.

Among enthusiasts, I think we, as a group, have out ratings pretty much in order. My order that was sent into Mitch's poll this year almost exactly matched the overall results. Although among specific enthusiasts, Am. Eagle is probably the most overrated thing ever in all of history.

^How the HELL is it overrated?!?!? The ride's love UNDERrated!!!!

I really don't see how so many of you can not like the Eagle. It's got speed, airtime, a great layout..... and it's a racer. Seriously, it's love awesome..... every coaster enthusiast, including ones from this site, who has personally riden it with me, has loved the ride. It's FAR from boring. And it's a HELL of a lot better than Raven, Viper, or any of that overrated poop.

Am. Eagle = hill, hill, hill, brake...extremely slow helix, hill, hill, hill, brake...helix.

Tetsu, he's right! It totally blows rides like The Raven and Boulder Dash! It also has wicked speed...except for the part where it's an extremely long and slow helix.

It has speed and it's pretty smooth because the what I'll call "inverted topper track" system they used on it was a good 25+ years ahead of its time.

I know you're attached to the thing but you really need to look at the ride realistically and see that the giant helix on the ass end of it was a horrendously bad idea, and the ride just doesn't have air. It's great until it hits the helix, and then it just totally dies.

Most of the airtime I get on that ride is the upstops jackhammer bouncing around a drop that has the same radius as Millennium Force.

I know you like it, and yes I've ridden it with the trims off on both sides, backwards, and all of that business, it's just it really doesn't do much. Before you tell me I haven't had the perfect ride or whatever keep in mind I've been riding that since before you were living in your dad's balls.

I'm sorry but it's something you need to deal with. As far as wooden rides go, it's really a pretty terrible representation and there is a reason why Intamin only made AE and White Cyclone during that slice of time. Personally, I hope it gets the iron horse treatment like Texas Giant did because I feel like they could double and triple dip the balls off of that thing and do all kinds of neat stuff with it.

GP:
any vekoma slc and we all know why

CE: expGeForce, apart from the first drop and the hill it is not that intense, plus it is being killed by the magnetic trims on the track.
