I watched a video about a class of high-school students that did something similar to this once and ended up collapsing the slide while they were in it. I'll see if I can find it.
Well I'm sure you've seen it at some point but...

Yerp.

Those videos are just sort of warning to some parents/guardians. Kids are getting crazy once they saw a water slide. While spending your time on a theme park, brace yourself because of children's 100% excitement. Let's make sure that...they're always safe.

Exactly what I was going to say and post the same video.
Many people were hurt and some even died that day - it's plain stupidity.

We (a group of us, encouraged by the park's staff) did this in France when we were kids and caused the partial collapse of the slide.

What not to do on a water slide - thrust yourself down the slide so fast to where you'll bank so much to the side and fly out over the brim. Not really though, it's probably virtually impossible for that to happen, realistically speaking.

Thats quite normal here in Holland.
When is was young we did this all the time, and still do if we got the chance.

Typical media response (from the Burke video)...."Maybe you need to have more than just rules because kids break rules" It's tragic, but could have been prevented. They (the kids) knew the protocol, especially if they were worried about being kicked out if they pulled the stunt off.

Yet another reason why California has mandates for anything and everything

Was security asleep or high on [CENSORED WORD]? I'm surprised the kids didn't also have guns, crack, and lots of porn with them because security just sort of ignored them. Where were the parents for that matter?
