They should tear Montu out and put in a Tiger Terror...that would really boost attendence at BGA.

In all honesty though, just because it's at my home park and I have ridden it more times than I can count, Talon has always been an extremely strong and smooth invert even though it's a smaller one. It's not a top 10 ride or anything, but I very rarely hear people talking about it and I have yet to meet someone who didn't think it's the best coaster at DP. Again, not a top 10 ride, but I don't think it gets as much credit as it should.

Hydra was better IMO. Talon was fun but it doesn't have the quick awesome pacing and forces that rides like batman clone and dueling dragons have. Nothing on the ride was that interesting to me. Although the final sequence was pretty cool.

If you didn't ride it in the back, Talon gives a much better ride in the back. Hydra is cool and I like it alot, but it doesn't have the G's that Talon does. Hydra also rattles and vibrates alot which I haven't experience on any other B&M. I know all rides need to settle in and probably vibrate a little, but it has been 6+ years since it was built. I would take Talon over Hydra 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.

lol it doesn't take much to be the best coaster at Dorney. Talon is fun, but the similarly sized Raptor is infinitely better to me. I liked Hydra when I rode, but then Talon did seem much better to me when I rode immediately after, even though I had ridden it many times several years earlier.

I rode talon in basically every seat. I rode it over seven times that day. Great ride, but actually hydra was more forceful in both directions. I greyed out a little on the first over bank thing, and the entrance to the cobra roll. I didn't grey out at all on Talon. Plus the drop on hydra kicked ass. Plus the jojo roll. And I rode middle front and back, and the smoothest row is the second to back. Best row too. But none of the rows were so rough that there was headbanging, the roughness adds IMO. Forces bore me unless theres vibration. Like titan sfot for example. Those helixes would suck if they were smooth. It just adds to the adrenaline for me.

I mostly rode in the front the one day I was there, but I found titan to be absolutely perfectly smooth except for the seams between track sections, which I mostly only noticed exiting the first helix where the speeds and forces were low. The only exception to that was the camelback in the back car, which had an awkward shake during the 0g section.

I meant the way the forces emphasize the feeling of the wheels pounding into the rails. Like that kind of roughness. Inverts tend to be so smooth that the wheels just glide a bit too easily. And I liked that awkward shake personally.

I guess. I didn't really notice that though. I did notice good (and surprising) lats going into the first turnaround and first helix. Those helped the ride for me.

Screw Hydra, and Talon, whats the one ride in dorney that hasnt been mentioned.

Thunderhawk, I'm not ashamed to say I love this ride, it's a fun classic Woodie. I always ride it when I'm there, and I love it every time.

I know it doesn't take a whole lot to be a good coaster at Dorney. None of them even sniff my top ten...and Talon and Hydra are both good rides, but I would agree that Raptor is far better than Talon. There's more to Raptor than Talon. I like how Hydra has a few spots of airtime compared to Talon's one spot of floater, and the Jojo is unlike anything else which I love, but one element does not make a coaster. I think Hydra has a better single element, but Talon IMO is a better overall ride. Talon has 2 very forceful helices and Hydra's is pretty slow at the end. I can see some of your points, we just have differing opinions is all which is fine haha.

I do wish we could get something like a GCI at Dorney. We seriously lack a good wooden coaster. Although I do think Thunderhawk is underrated as well. It is smooth, has good airtime at lats, and it's pretty re-ridable IMO. But I really wish we would sink some money into a GCI or something in the back part of the park instead of putting in a 3rd invert next year.

^^Yeah Especially near the front, and in that back you got airtime coming out of the first turn as you dive down.

Flight Deck, Flight of fear and Vortex @ KI. The only thing I did not like about Fligh Deck was the extremely long queue area, on a very slow day you have to walk forever to get to the station, especially when you want a re-ride, unless they changed the queue area, last time I was there was almost 12 years ago. Vortex is just a really fun Arrow multi-loop coaster. Flight of Fear has a really good launch and the layout is pretty cool too.

Lets talk about the Force. Steel Force. Now dont get me wrong, I love Talon but I must say the "Force" brings much more to the table. Not only is it the only coaster with half-decent air time, its also one of the smoothest except for the snap out of the helix.

Talon and Steel Force are the best rides Dorney Park has as far as coasters go. Talon is a crazy monster of a ride while Steel Force is much faster, longer, and family friendly. (48" vs. 54")
