Soon as you get the new one, i recommend that you make another backup of the game with the reg key. [8D]

you burn it onto a cd, need the cd write drive, burn the exe file along with a notepad file which includes the reg info and voila!

If you have tracks you want to keep be sure to burn them onto the CD also!

Well, your own valid reg code actally is (was?) stored within the windoze registry (and is clearly readable within that).

You should (not only therefor) make registry backups frequently anyway! Use 'regedit.exe / export...'. The '.reg' files usually will get very large (a few MB's) but can be ZIPped to about 1/8th to 1/10th of the original size. (So you schould be able to backup this zip on one floppy)

In case you actually have lost your reg-code contact 'Mad-Data' via http://www.nolimitscoaster.com and tell them. Under such circumstanced these people are usually very helpful with providing you your reg-code again.

You don't have to buy it again Adam. Just contact Mad Data at info@nolimitscoaster.com and tell them what happened. They will be able to give you a link to download it again and a new Reg key.

I'd recommend getting a burner or even a ZIP drive w/ some zip disks.

I keep a backup of the install file on a second hard drive and I exported the NL key, so I just need to merge that little .reg file if I lose my key.

I'd recommend against that .reg file suggestion to be honest.

If you've noticed that windows gradually gets slower over time, one of the reasons is the registry getting bloated (along with the windows directory itself, with all those lovely custom DLLs that programs like to install).

A much better suggestion (which someone did mention earlier) is a bunch of text files (or even just one!) with all your reg keys in. :)

Well, you can export single keys from the registry rather than the whole thing. This simply writes a surprisingly readable ASCII file with the key. I do agree though that most registries are about the size of an average elephant after a year.[:(!]

Ohhhhhh, we're on the same wavelength then ;)

If anyone has the guts to use regedit, you can find the nolimits data at:

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1645522239-152049171-1343024091-500\Software\NoLimits Coasters\NoLimits Simulator

The ID in there may be different, but there's only two on my system and I'm guessing not many more on yours - just give them a try :)

If you want to export JUST the nolimits data, navigate through your registry until you find the "NoLimits Simulator" key, click on it, then hit Registry > Export Registry File. Save it somewhere safe, and you're set.

The advantage of doing it this way is that your graphics settings are also saved :)

thng is the registry is different from software to software as each is uniquely encoded with your reg key
