So after getting that new lens and seeing what it can do, Im going to really try to get a huge but incredibly high end gallery of CP. Theres lots of photos of CP out there in the world but mostly, Id like a gallery where people can come look at really high quality stuff and both the coaster nerd and the casual rider will both enjoy.

Here are 50 pics (basically a test group) with my new lens. As I just mentioned, these arent the start of the gallery, lets call them the test bed for the gallery itself. Lots of different shutter speeds and aperture settings were used on photos that appear to be the same. In some cases, the photos are the same settings I just felt each was cool.

These are all 1280 on the long side. So yes, if your connection sucks, get ready for a long load time.

You don't have anything wider than 28? I'm finding my 17 not wide enough lately...lol. 10-22 is looking pretty sweet right now, if only I had the cash.

Nope. And with the 1.6 crop, you almost need the 10 to achieve anything considered "wide". Since Im not much into that photography, I havent invested. At some point I will.

Your picture quality is amazing, but seeing a bunch of close up pictures of people I don't know on roller coasters doesn't do anything for me. Why not try to capture more of the ride profiles?

These are all awesome. I love the ones of Maverick's overbanks, especially the one under the first drop with no train. Looking forward to more.

I love to see the wide ranges of expressions of the riders. Its not something you see often.

Track/profile/nerd shots will come later. Plus, you can get a lot of ride profiles from anywhere on the net. Unless you have a request you haven't seen.

MF looks so much better now that it's gone from purple to blue again. Great pictures Real.

Thanks.

Only a third of MF is blue. Its a 3 year project apparently. Which makes me laugh, it'll be fading again by then. But what is done looks so good again.

lol it feels like it.

What if I said I could stand over around Maverick and still pull in peoples faces on MF's drop 300ft up?

Or standing over by Shoot the Rapids and be able to look at the people on Dragster 400ft up?

Its hard to quantify just how much zoom a 400mm is until its on your camera. Especially when you're used to looking at that show through a 135 and dreaming about "man, wish I could setup from anywhere and still get the shot" Yea, its kinda like that.

More I use it, the more I love it. Blown me away thus far.

What would happen if I bought a 1.4 extender? LULZ

The BorrowLenses.com guys did that a few weeks ago, like 5 stacked tele converters on a really long lens. Just a tiny bit of light fall off, lol.

^LOL!!! I thought I was the only one that noticed that. Anyway, great pics, I would love to see some panoramic views taken from the skyway and giant wheel so you can see lake erie and skylines of the park, I think that would be totally awesome, also the same taken from the mainland looking towards CP. I know you are planning on leaving early next time, but, I think some sunset pics would look sweet especially with the new lens you have.

Theres the COMPLETE 100+ Image Gallery. Its just too much to maintain on forums anymore. Might go up tomorrow for Soak City which means i may get more pictures...unsure.

But I am heading off to my local zoo again in a few minutes. Always proves interesting.

BTW What am I looking for in the MF picture? that Calculus shirt?

And LOLOLOL @ DAT BROW. Awesome. I did see it, but hey, when a train launches, you get whoever is on that train. Not like you get to pick and choose.

I am currently going through thousands more photos from years ago with older equipment. Some of the pics turned out quite well. I am going to add them to the Picasa Album's as they are finished with editing. I will eventually rename this thread to deal with all photos I have taken, not just CP.

But I will still highlight and focus my CP ventures throughout this year.

ADDED BUNCH OF NEW PHOTOS! These are OLD photos, but worthy of being in the Gallery. Parks included:

Hershey Park, Islands of Adventure and Geauga Lake. Again, only select photos so some rides missing, some only a few photos, etc. Just how I do it. I don't like to upload mediocre stuff for sake of having a picture.

I went to that album and once I saw "Villain", I shed a manly tear of grief.
