RCT2 Contest Rules

RULES

1) Absolutely no CS is allowed.
2) Originality is expected. Or rather, using a track that is included in the game will be highly unfavorable. Ride recreations are allowed in this park, such as the SLCs or Boomerangs.
3) Your park must contain at least three (3) rollercoasters. Every seperate track will count as a seperate rollercoaster.
4) Nothing is allowed to touch the creek or the brown marshy land around the creek, the creek and marsh land may not be altered either. Think bridges.
5) Don't name your mascots after other contestants or anything to do with 'My Little Pony' franchise.
6) One coaster may reach up to 160 feet, while the rest must remain at 120 feet or less.
7) Don't forget to name your park, as the starting name is "" in the scenario.
8) As usual, all coasters are expected to be unique. Having three coasters of the same design will not look good overall.
9) Hacking will be allowed for ONE PURPOSE ONLY: creating launched rides from chain lifts and RCTreliABLE to stop them from constantly breaking down.
10) This is vanilla RCT2, no expansion packs will be allowed.
11) You are allowed to build tunnels anywhere, however the maximum depth a tunnel may reach is -10 feet. This means you are unable to tunnel under the river.

JUDGING

You will be judged in the standard T,A,O/Acc format, but here's how it will work:

T: Flow of the rides, path layout, does the scenery make sense? Etc.
A: Height/speed of rides, popularity of rides, overall experience, etc.
O/Acc: Designer accuracy, original elements, scenery layout, etc.

Each category is rated on a scale from 1-10. The highest average score will win.
Prizes will be awarded in CC points as follows.

1st = 10000
2nd = 5000
3rd = 2500

The contest will begin on July 13 and run for 30 days, ending on August 12 at 11:59 pm (CC time).

Email all entries to gavg@coastercrazy.com so they can be made annonmous for the judges KKK and rcking.

Here is where you can download the appropriate trainers

The instructions for installation and running:
1. Save .zip to desktop.
2. Move the "8 Cars per Trainer" folder to your desktop.
3. Give Administrator permissions to 8 Cars per Trainer, RCTreliABLE, and RCT2
4. Run RCT2
5. Run 8 Cars per Trainer and RCTreliABLE.

8 Cars per Trainer is the program you will be using to create a launched coaster if you so wish to desire one. Follow the included online read-me for help, or post a question here.

RCTreliABLE allows for rides to not break down. Hacked rides will break down every chance possible, so this program will be very important to prevent that.

One last note! We will be double-checking whether or not you used the trainers correctly. If we discover anything that points to hacking with the trainer or ANY other trainer, your park will be immediately disqualified. In addition, your park will be removed of all guests, all rides will be renewed and the park?????????s date will be reversed to March 1, Year 1 when the judges receive the park.

Can you post the height in meters to prevent mistakes because of misscalculating?

I'm not sure what happened to the contestant list. I think Gav has it somewhere.

160 feet = 48.768 meters
120 feet = 36.576 meters

Can we build an underground tunnel underneath the swamp land/river?

Not to be a dick, but couldn't you just put your game in feet for this contest, then switch it back?

I would say Jcoaster there isn't a rule saying you can't. If you ask to many questions you will end up with more rules. If you have a query along those lines either read between the lines or pm a judge for clarification.

jcoasters, there has been a few changes made to the rules. Please re-read them to clarify.

Q: if the ride is duelling, but is one track, and has a switchover and 2 stations, even though its one track, would it be called 1 or 2 tracks?

A: It is one continuous track. Therefore, it is counted as one coaster. Dueling coasters with only one track are counted as one, while dueling coasters with two tracks are counted as two.

This seems kind of obvious, but terrain can be altered right? Excluding of course the river and marshland.

Indeed, but keep it within realistic proportions.

I won`t join but srsly,no merging and no 8cars except launching.Sad that I can`t throw in my Genfer G?????????rten,I`d expect this as InstaWin.

LOEA, not everyone here knows how to use those features! If you looked around, you would have seen a post by me saying that future RCT2 contests will allow for virtually freedom of building

I know... NE parks are amazing... They truly are the elite RCT2 players.

Okay, so I just decided to mess around with the template, and I managed to get 7 coasters into my park (and only 1 was a wild mouse [8D])

I'm pretty much done already LOL. It's not great, but at least the game thinks it is: 900 guests, 920 rating [:D] Right now it's just adding a few touches here and there, maybe some extra scenery and whatnot. I need a life...
